This is another example of people misreading the Osweiler trade. A trade doesnt actually save the Jags any real cap money this year, and trading him in 2021 makes a LOT of sense at a lower pick price when he does represent savings. Hell, they can post-6/1 cut him for $20mil in savings in 2021.

Foles cap savings, off a trade, is like $3mil. Which is what you pay to a rookie 1st round QB or cheap vet backup to Minshew. And you cant take that QB if you've traded you're first rounder...

 

Imagine if they went from Peyton Manning to 1 season of a QB carousel to Andrew Luck to 1 post-retirement Jacoby Brissett season to Tom Brady

Colts cap is the wildest shit I've ever seen. They owe almost nothing in 2021 to anything but cheap rookies and pro-bowl players.

They can hand Brady 4/150 without even blinking; make like $50mil signing bonus and a HUGE roster or salary for 2021, and then basically let him play GM for the offense. Most of their O-line, Mack, Hilton, Ebron, etc are all in spots where they can buy out extensions early and have them for Brady's whole run, or trade them to a team that wants them.
