Spencer Howard and Alec Bohm are very promising. Other than them, not a ton going on, bottom five farm on fangraphs.

They’ve been hampered by some real doozies with drafting. Mickey Moniak first overall pick in 2016 and he is lucky to have made the majors at all.

DD’s strength is identifying which prospects to trade while their value is high. He loves trading prospects but they rarely bit him. He also likes to spend a lot of money so if the Phillies don’t have money to spend or prospects to trade it will be interesting to see what he does.

 

It's definitely going to be interesting to see what he does. In 2018, Phillies owner said the team was ready to spend "stupid money." Now they probably won't retain Realmuto, which really makes me wonder where the hell do they go from here

I was thinking they'd let JT walk too, but bringing Dombrowski in I bet there's a good chance the thinking changes on that. If they're really really gonna go for it they need pitching but JT's a unicorn. I don't think Dombrowski signs on if they're planning to cut back, even with covid. That's just speculation though.

Finished my exams yesterday so I started a new OOTP sim. Playing as the Angels, started in March 2020 and in this alternate reality there's no covid (!) so full season. Trout missed like 6 weeks after a nasty concussion and he still uh...put up 10.5 WAR

 

Only 17 Stolen bases though

 

This is great - huge fan of this signing, less years and less money than you’d need to sign Muto - and this gives them more flexibility to make 2 more big splashes and even probably extend Conforto. No complaints here.

Idk much about porter but the dbacks usually have very good drafts

 

I don’t know anything about Porter but reception seems good so far

 

They were competing with the cubs so I guess they had to make the move sooner than later.
