I was team give Duvall a shot before given how hot he was at the end of last season but I didn’t realize he’s type 1 diabetic. Kind of worried for him to go through with the season now.

 

Intrasquad is weird. I guess you want to see good AB's but you have to root for your pitchers really lol

 

I'm hoping my attitude changes once the season starts but I'm still not uber excited about this year. Which is a shame cause the NL east is great! Anything can happen

 

Watching this Cardinals intrasquad game and holy SHIT Ol' Man Yadi got skinny during quarantine

Jarred Kelenic is raking in intrasquad games but also he’s facing Mariners pitching, so hard to say if that’s indicative of anything

 

I became a bit of a Duvall fan down the stretch last season when he was hitting bombs almost every game he played. Then that big one during the playoffs.

But man, this is a great signing. Can never get too much depth at this point. Especially with the DH.

Yeah I love how deep our lineup is. Just hope Freddie is healthy and ready to go. Also really need Will Smith. If I have to endure Melancon closing ballgames again...

 

Is Will Smith gonna be the closer? I thought he was a setup guy. Honestly, Melancon wasn't even close to being the worst guy last year... you remember that shitshow of Luke Jackson, AJ Minter, Shane Greene, etc... trying to get it done?

 

I remember both Mark Melancon and Luke Jackson quite fondly lol go Cards

 

Unfortunately I do remember. But yeah something about him being the set up guy was mentioned, but he’s an elite closer and I have to think he will get his chance when all those other dudes start blowing saves. Greene had a shaky start but was solid the rest of the way as a set up man. I think Martin can be a save guy, too. And if I have to see Minter throw one more pitch...

 

Would have been cool if Chris Martin didn’t get hurt warming up in that playoff game. Shit came undone at that point.
