Ugh it is ludicrously criminal that he dropped off the hall of fame ballot his first year. Edmonds made me wanna play center in little league haha

hard agree. I’d be cool with him getting a veteran’s committee shout. It’d be better than fucking Harold Baines

If Baines in than Edmonds should be in. Lots of players should be in if Baines is in lol

Not gonna spoil anything but the first episode is all pre 90s so you know it's gonna be "bad" baseball-wise so just sit back and enjoy the wild stories

The degree of smack talking done to Harold Baines on an Effectively Wild podcast episode was hilarious. But just coming here to say that Edmonds was probably the best defensive outfielder I have seen in my lifetime.

Jim Edmonds killed the Mets every single time when he was in St Louis. Absolutely hated when they played eachother lol

Does Beltran leaving his bat on his shoulder for a called strike 3 still haunt you?

Jim Edmonds, Pat Burrell, and Chipper were some of the top enemies of my childhood/adolescent baseball years lol

Chipper naming his daughter Shea was the ultimate slap in the face haha. I used to think Chipper was at least a decent all around guy until all of those reports of the extramarital affairs went around.

It was weird growing up in Connecticut and having access to Yankees (MSG, pre-YES), Mets (SNY), Braves (TBS) games on a regular basis and not being a fan of any of them.

This has me thinking though how much I miss This Week In Baseball, the FOX variety show before the National Game of the Week.

    Ugh, I hate America. Supporter

I remember working at a grocery store during that Beltran strike out. We had a little radio we were carrying around the store with us listening to it.

Got so fucking pumped when he struck him out.

though, Kenny Rogers walking Andruw Jones to end the game and send the Braves to the '99 World Series might be a worse memory, just because the late 90s mets team was so fucking good and only got to the WS once.

Not so sure all these things are gonna happen at any point this summer

Tigers games are a nice proof of concept. Almost no fans there last year.

this honestly makes me think there isn't going to be a season at all. I don't think any 'mass gatherings' prohibition or reasonable expectation that there is far less of a threat is going to come any time before middle of the summer.

They're gonna have to balance whether that is worth cancelling the season over. I have to think they would rather make some revenue (via the TV contracts) than none at all.

I bet they will eventually begrudgingly start games with no fans in the hopes that they can start allowing fans again late summer. But that might be wishful thinking idk

there HAS to be some sort of season just so that the Astros can go to places like LA and NY
