do you go for base autos or any parallels?

 

I looked and the Schmidt cards went way up, at least for the autos.

 

I'm generally not too big a spender, if I can get like a blue or purple color for a decent price I like those. I don't go too big on the prospect gambling.

I have one regret, Judge's Heritage rookie auto when it came out, I bought the base auto for 50, I was really thinking about the red ink auto for like 130 but didn't. At it's peak that became like a 5 or 6 thousand dollar card. Ugh haha. But I picked up a lot of other Judge when he was low after his debut so it's all good

 

idk what I’d even do if I got lucky with an expensive pull or lucked into a card increasing dramatically. I guess it would depend on my financial state but my inclination would be to keep it

 

The hardest thing about considering selling a valuable card is worrying about when peak value is, it goes up and down like everything else

 

I bought David Bote’s topps now walk off grand slam auto /99 for $100 when it dropped. From a cursory eBay search, it may be worth a marginal amount more or even less lol

 

Yeah I find it hard to part with anything, like my Trout Update gold rookie is my best, and I bought it for I think 30 bucks. Trout's such a safe bet that it's a good keeper, it will still go up I'm positive. If I had something like 5k plus? Man my anxiety may have a hard time holding on to something like that haha

 

I'm guessing people buy as many rookies as they can get to maximize the chance one becomes a superstar which is so broken and not fun at all

 

Yeah that sounds maddening to me haha. Definitely doesn't seem fun

 

By the time I know about a prospect, all their stuff is mega expensive lol

 

For me, I know way early on but procrastinate and then it goes from 20 to 200 lol

Probably should just get in on the early sets and get as many of the best possible pulls as you can.

 

It just bums me out that Jasson Dominguez will be in Bowman this year and if Wander Franco started out at like 500, there's no chance of getting his first card lol
