Haha just checking because that response makes too much damn sense.

I do resent having to buy a VPN to watch the Cubs in Illinois through mlb.tv. I do it but it sucks to jump through hoops and pay extra just to be able to watch on my iPad while my gf watches something on the tv.

  8. And they really gotta figure out something for the playoffs for cord cutters and people that hate Fox. I had to watch so many playoff games that way cause it was on Fox Sports whatever last year. So annoying. Let me give you money directly. Let me watch content. It shouldn’t be that hard to figure out.

Speaking of playoffs - and I say this every year - but it's absolutely ridiculous that they start playoff games during the weekdays at 1 or 2 p.m. EASTERN time. League Championship Series start as early as 4 p.m. during the week.

It's almost as if they're trying to make it difficult for people to watch.

Why do the royals have a 0.1% chance to make the playoffs with one less win than the tigers, while the tigers have 0%?

I really do think the NL East will be tight all season. I could see the division winner coming down to the last weekend of the season.

Mets lose it by one game and two games out of wc, probably

Personally I think the Braves still win the division, but not shocked if the NL WC is two other NL East teams.

Idk if the Phillies are that good but girardi will probably get them to at least over .500. There's gonna be competition from the nl central.

If you look at the screenshot below, the far-right range of possibilities for the Royals (so best-case scenarios basically) goes a bit farther than those for the Tigers. So for whatever reason, while their model thinks most of range of outcomes that are actually likely to occur slightly favor the Tigers as the better team, the wild 0.1% best-case scenario for the Royals would be a bit better than the same best-case 0.1% scenario for the Tigers.

At least I think that's correct. tl;dr the Royals have more variance, or a broader variance range at least

Yeah the reality of PECOTA is that it always seems to overvalue bad teams and undervalue good ones, since their method of projecting based upon the outcome range tends to "flatten" stuff a bit.

Which makes the Dodgers' 102.5-win projection that much more terrifying.

    music and baseball.

TIL the Sox are paying $98M left on Price's contract.... they would rather pay $100M to Price to play for another team over paying Mookie and taking a lux tax hit.

    Fucking trash.
