Spring training doesn't begin until they have to delay a game for bees.

 

Every year I resent more and more how long spring training is. I want real games now!!

 

god fuck this league so hard

 

I can’t decide whether that’s brilliant or stupid

 

Wow I bet they're gonna use the extra playoff revenue to pay minor leaguers

 

And decide not to shut down all those milb teams

 

I will legit cry if mlb adds more teams to the playoffs. I think the playoff system they got now is perfection.

 

7 teams is way too many. Basically half the league? Nah

 

agreed but wildcard really should be best of 3 series imo

 

The only reason I'd budge to 3 games is so the wild card cames isn't just a dump your entire pitching staff into 1 game thing

But... I love the penalty for not winning your division aspect too much to change it

 

i dunno w only 3 divisions i dont think having the 4th or 5th best record out of 15 teams is necessarily something to be penalized. baseball is too circumstantial to leave it down to 1 game imo. put aside a few days for the wildcard teams to play it out while the division winners get some rest and the post season gets extended a few days, i think thats pretty fair.

 

It makes winning the division a legit prize though and making the playoffs a legit prize too which I like. Its one of those sports where making the playoffs is celebrated (unless you're the Dodgers or yankees etc).

It's a long season in which every game matters at the end...which is cool.

It makes the divison race interesting and teams try. They dont want it to be back when you had the red sox and yankees not really caring about the division in the end.

 

Which is exactly why it should stay as one game. If teams want to avoid it, win the division.

 

i respect that but still disagree. as grueling as the season is coming into october i think rest + homefield is a pretty good incentive

You could convince me that the wildcard should be a best of 3. but changing the overall landscape of the baseball postseason is, as simon would say, a no from me.
