Last week the rumor was a decision was suppose to come down this week.

 

According to Peter Gammons, Chris Young told him that he was the one that brought the Apple Watch idea to the Red Sox because that's what the Yankees did the previous year (he had been with the Yankees two years previously).

EDIT: There is also a Boston Globe article from over the summer with quotes from Heath Hembree about the Chris Young/Apple Watch stuff.
