If a guy like Gregg Williams in the NFL can get hired I don’t find it hard to believe those two will have jobs within two years

Most teams fans should not act high and mighty on this situation tbh

MLB's "investigation" is the biggest joke in all of this. So when Manfred came out and said they had no reason to believe it went beyond the Astros, I'm sure they thoroughly investigated these claims. Oh and him calling the Red Sox owner to apologize for investigating is rich as well.

The fact that MLB is sitting on its hands over the Logan Morrison tweet and the handful of other accusations against the Brewers, Rangers, Yankees, Diamondbacks and Dodgers is a joke.

If the MLB cared at all about sign stealing, they'd have put the replay TVs on tape delay and instituted earpieces similar to the ones in the NFL. When someone as dumb as I am can come up with a solution to the problem in less than five minutes, it really emphasizes how much the league ignored in the past decade.

Luhnow and Hinch should’ve gotten much longer suspensions

Blaming Fiers isn't the way I look at it. I look at it as -- Fiers had the opportunity to do this when he was on the team. He was a disgruntled ex-employee who threw an accusation out there when he knew it wouldn't affect him and would solely punish people he held a grudge against.

It was a selfish, gutless, and vindictive way of going about things. So he didn't care about it when he benefited him but then two years later when the organization cut him he's ready to talk. Oh, and the same ethical Mike Fiers who had no problem using pine tar to throw a no hitter?

Chris Correa is serving actual prison time for the hacking scandal. John Coppolella was banned for life.

Hinch and Luhnow got off so fucking light.

Mike Fiers messages underaged girls and sends them pictures. The fans praising him are dumb.

I mean, Correa committed a federal crime. Let's pump the brakes on that take.

I think a better way would to just get rid of the replay TVs and make it be an instant challenge instead of having the manager stall for an minute or so and get word back from their replay team whether to challenge or not.

Fine with that too. Although to be entirely honest, I think players should have the ability to go to the clubhouse and watch their previous AB against the pitcher during the game. The league should be embracing the technological aspects, not sticking its head in the sand.

There’s space between suspended for a year and prison time just so you know @terps12

I didn't bring the two situations together. You did. I was responding to your comment.

Don't know why you'd criticize Luhnow's punishment considering the report stated at multiple times that there was conflicting testimony as to his knowledge or level of knowledge. The report did, in two separate places state he was not involved nor was he part of the implementation.

Hinch probably got off light with the one year suspension. However, it's a defacto indefinite ban. He's not going to be employed in 2021.

And like I said earlier, the league botched the whole situation. If there are rumors of this going on in at least 8 other clubs, they've now set the precedent that one year manager and GM suspensions will be the punishment. Are they ready to levy those punishments across the whole league? If it were a lifetime ban, you're cutting the talent pool down pretty significantly.

    music and baseball.

I don't think the players really need the video. The pitcher is there in front of you pitching, and to other players, and the coaches should be there to watch your swing and provide guidance on your swing. Its not like the NFL where video helps develop strategy. Watching yourself for an AB or two isn't really a big enough sample size to be fruitful. I don't think watching video during the game is beneficial to a team outside replay reviews and sign stealing. I can't think of anything meaningful, anyways.

Its viewed as light because no one believes this. There was literally a trash can being banged next to his ear.

For anyone reading this tweet, it was fake. Not Carlos Beltran's niece.

This is the problem with reporting and social media today. Thousands of people will see that tweet and believe it was factual.

When you are the head of a team, it’s your job to know. His proclaimed ignorance is just as damning as if he was actively engaged.

I’d love to claim ignorance forever to my benefit even when I hold the most power and responsibility in an organization

The General Manager doesn't sit in the dugout for the game. Nor do they sit in the hallway leading to the clubhouse. If no one believes the report then I don't really know what you want.

The league suspended Luhnow for essentially lack of institutional control. I think a year punishment for that is fine.

But I believe this person has been right on a few things already? Social media makes things hard to follow and believe, sadly. She could still be right.
