I know it's a different sport but I'm a Saints fan and this is comparable to the bountygate scandal punishment. Didn't slow us down much long-term. Really disappointing

im not on your guys side in this. i think this is the type of punishment i expected and i think it's really all you can do. that's a huge penalty. top draft picks, gm/manager gone for a year. i dont think you need to take away the title because i dont think the sign stealing is as big of a deal as you guys make it out to be. It's cheating, it's bullshit, but i dont know...i think this is fine.

 

nah teams will still cheat - this won't stop anything. every single MLB team would suffer these weak consequences if it meant a title

The Cora suspension is going to be interesting whenever that comes down, especially once details of what the 2018 Sox did.

Yeah this isn't a huge deterrent going forward. Although I think Cora is done so that is kinda a deterrent. Knew they wouldn't strip anything

 

I don't see MLB banning him this time around. He'll get a suspension just as long, possibly longer than Hinch and if something happens under his watch again then he'll get banned. Like I said in my previous post I wonder if the Sox will cut ties with him though since his contract is up after the 2021 season.

 

It's a massive deterrent to getting caught; there was not going to be any deterrent from cheating

 

I don't think they should vacate the title. Disqualifying them from the post-season for 2 years is what I would do but they are never going to allow that because it would be crazy and cause a lot of unintended consequences.
