Firmly believe that doesn’t matter much to determine his value. Cap hit, and the value of similar trades is what I was basing it off.
What’s a similar trade? Were they a first-team all-pro player in the last 3 years? Norwell was. I get where you’re coming from but I do think this is a unique situation where he’s better than the average guard that gets traded (how much better is unclear, which is why it makes sense some teams value him more than others) The main reason I’m trading him is cause the Jags are a half ass rebuilt team and I’m trying to finish the rebuild so we can put two years of misfiring team chemistry behind us. We need cap space and we need new faces in order to capitalize on Minshew & the other young pieces we have. I’m not trading him because he’s bad. It’s just that holding on to free agents who probably have low morale from the past two seasons, when we have a lot of people to sign soon, is pointless.
Being an all pro three years ago don’t impress me much. You’re not gonna see a team trade more than a 5th for an aging expensive vet at a not super priority position. Just my opinion. Don’t think you’re being unreasonable or anything.
I’d agree with you more if he was 30-31. He’s 28. Still plenty of juice left (obviously 28 would be an old RB but that’s still a median age for an OL). “Aging” is a bit unfair. He’s young enough to have a resurgence and return to form if he goes to a team that’s a good fit.
I’d personally take the 4 for 2 6s and Norwell for IND because they have the cap space and a secondary need at RG, but to my knowledge, Ballard has not done a pick for player trade in his time at GM so that’d be disingenuous to do
Man, really wish I didn’t panic draft Patrick Queen at 20. Probably could’ve traded down & still got him. Happy with the pick but we just have so many needs. Getting Winfield AND Raekwon would’ve made this draft perfect.
I know I was just @CarpetElf in case he didn't see you backtrack from refusing to trade norwell to only willing to trade him for a top 50 pick to being okay with a 4th rounder etc.
This whole mock draft I’ve said I want a 4th. I’ve relented and given two 6ths in return because I don’t have a 5th.
SORRY DUDE i fell asleep on the couch while updating this lol. Brunch server shifts are something else. Front page updated now. @JRShoenberger - Ravens ON DECK group pick for Rams @broken22 for Eagles
The Eagles select: Noah Igbinoghene, CB, Auburn. The Eagles are going to need a major rehaul at the position.
