Another possibility is corner, they have almost nothing at corner outside of Hayward Dantzler available? Him and Hanson are my two suggestions
Carolina Panthers select Antoine Winfield Jr, S, Minnesota Staying on the defensive side of the ball for the third pick in a row. Panthers have ignored the safety position for years. Eric Reid was a nice signing but outside of him we've really just had a rotating door of mediocrity back there. Winfield is a consistent playmaker. I like him playing more of a centerfield role while Reid plays up a little closer to the line. Winfield has tremendous instincts of where the ball is going and seems to always be disrupting plays. While addressing the OL would certainly help the offense, he's too good of value to pass on at this point.
Well that was one of my two guys so this decision is easy Jaguars select Raekwon Davis, DT, Alabama Winfield would’ve been great but we need to stop the damn run. I had Raekwon above Winfield because 1) bigger need 2) he doesn’t have injury concerns and Winfield does. This is definitely the responsible pick. Marcell Dareus has an astronomical cap hit for a nose tackle ($23M) - this is clearly the year the Jags planned to either cut or restructure him considering his dead money is almost gone. Davis is a perfect replacement - he played the same role in Saban’s defense, and similarly boasts the ability to two gap, hold up double teams, and generate pass rush when single teamed all in one package. His sophomore year he had 8.5 sacks before becoming one of the most vaunted run stuffers in college ball once teams started paying attention. Given that we gave up 200 yards rushing SIX damn times last season, I was not getting out of this draft without both a MLB and a DT. Stoked with Davis, as he could have gone a full round before this.
STOKED about my draft so far tbh. Based on how this draft fell, the only thing that would’ve made it better tbh is trading down from pick 20 to pick up an extra third round pick. Very possibly could’ve still got Patrick Queen and also added Winfield Jr to this draft.
Colts select Ross Blacklock, IDL, TCU Blacklock seems like the happy medium between the Colts needing more size up front (I think they only have one player over 300 lbs on the DL) but still is athletic enough to play the 3-tech in the Colts’ Cover 2 scheme, unlike some of the other big boys left on the board
Hey I'm gonna need a group pick for TB here my day is packed pretty full and I don't want to hold it up (again) Buffalo is easier because I know the needs and targets like the back of my hand
