Keep in mind also that we are cutting Marcel Dareus in my scenario, so it’s not like I lose Yannick if I don’t move Foles or Norwell. I’m moving Foles for ADDITIONAL cap space. Dareus has a ridiculous cap hit this year with minimal dead money - $23M vs $1.5M. We save literally a whole front loaded year of Yannick’s salary by cutting him loose.
TRADE The Jaguars have traded Nick Foles, 106, and next year’s fourth to the Cardinals for pick 200. (Mostly just giving them two fourths to take his contract. Cardinals need the fourths and could use QB insurance & a mentor for Murray)
Foles contract also drops to a non-guaranteed 15 million after being traded which is manageable for a young team and relatively easy to get out of should I need to.
Yeah he just clearly makes way more sense on Arizona’s books than ours haha. I’ve seen enough of Minshew doing a solid job responding to adversity and avoiding interceptions, to roll with him and see how he pans out the next 2-3 years. Jags have plenty of time to make a long term decision on him.
His dad is my mom’s neighbor Do not want because I have a personal vendetta against his little brothers
I mean if you have cap space you can restructure his deal. He’s in his last year which is why the cap hit is so high. Jags simply have no plans to resign him.
Randall is the perfect Jags GM for this thing. Keeping the tradition of dumping players who they signed as big names free agents.
Bills select Bryan Edwards, WR, South Carolina. Went back and forth between Aiyuk and Edwards here. The Bills have been connected to Aiyuk a few times and to be honest I just don't love it so I went with a player I think may be considered a bit of a reach *now* but should settle into this range by draft time and also has the potential to outperform his draft slot. I love the fit of Edwards in the Bills current offense. He immediately becomes the biggest guy in their WR corps but also has the short game quickness that they've been using to combat Josh Allen's erratic tendencies.
Okay but like. We lost face on that signing IMMEDIATELY. This is a guy we actually should get rid of. We signed him cause we had nobody and we didn’t want to draft Daniel Jones - im sure at the time we had no idea Gardner Minshew would be the best rookie QB in the league this year. Now that we have Minshew, and a depleted team with minimal cap space, it’s dumb as fuck that we are paying Foles $27M per season haha. Im sure he’s not actually as bad as he played for us, coaching / poor OL / coming back from injury prob had a lot to do with it, but there’s just no way the information currently on the table suggests it’s smart to keep him.
Pick 55 - Atalanta Selects Solomon Kindley, IOL, Georgia. After addressing the defensive line and the secondary in the 1st two picks, Atlanta makes a move to bolster the offensive line. The weapons are there with Julio and Ridley and Ryan and Freeman to be a good offense. But none of that matters if Matt Ryan is on the ground all game and Devonta can't get any movement.
Pick 56 - The Las Vegas Raiders select Curtis Weaver, EDGE, Boise State Raiders invested big in the line last year, but Farrell is taking longer to develop. Continuing to bolster that line seems to be a solid formula knowing we'll be dealing with Mahomes for eons to come.
Hello would you like Marcell Dareus for the later of your two fifth rounders? (Pick 148, you also have 145)
Imma update the thread btw just smoking my morning bowl first haha /I work in a restaurant /I do whatever I want before work as long as it’s not binge drinking
what? no I am saying I will take cap dumps if I got a pick to sweeten the deal, not give up picks for a cap dump
Makes sense. Dareus is still a decent player. He’s not “give you a pick” bad. His contract is also only bad for this year. But if you still don’t want him that’s fair.
