fantastic pick. Hernandez + Trey Smith is a great interior. Smith was my pick until Randall offered Armstead

Deonte Brown is an absolute monster. He actually probably needs to lose a little weight (I expect whatever team that drafts him will make that happen). But even with his size he can move and swing swiftly. Carolina’s interior line was atrocious last year. Adding Vera-Tucker and Brown is potentially a huge upgrade. Taylor Moton will likely be tagged and playing LT. Could end up being an above average OL for Fields.

Cardinals select Dez Fitzpatrick, WR, Louisville.

replace one Fitz with another. From one Cardinals team to another. It’s too perfect.

Larry Fitzgerald is finally riding off into the sunset. DeAndre Hopkins is elite and the Cardinals have other ancillary weapons, but the NFC West is a mobilizing division. Even the poorly built Seahawks are always a risk to put up 35+ with Wilson, Metcalf and Lockett.

Kyler Murray is going to continue to need to perform in a high octane, high pressure environment and while the Cardinals line is solid, a steady rotation of weapons never hurts in Kingsbury’s spread offense.

Dez Fitzpatrick is very fun. I expected a mostly possession receiver at the Senior Bowl, but he surprised me with some elusiveness and tricky route running. The rosters are constantly rotating but he was the one dude who had a big game on offense (6 catches, 91 yards and a TD.)

Ultimately he’s an underrated guy in a deep WR class and could easily end up being a great pro. Davante Adams was a third rounder without a lot of hype, for example. He has both the size and speed to develop into a consistent threat. I think he’d be a lock to be WR2 aside from Hopkins.

Cardinals keep a Fitz, Fitz stays a Cardinal.

The Las Vegas Raiders select Patrick Jones II, EDGE Pittsburgh

The Raiders pass rush was baaaaaad in 2020. Ranked 27th. Now seems like a good time to grab a player who can wind up as a starting defensive end in their 4-3.

JOK's versatility allows me to double-dip on the defense with a player who...isn't very versatile but can certainly help the Raiders get after the QB finally.

With the 82nd pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select Tyler Shelvin, DT, LSU

Beef. Shelvin completes Miami's DLine and will eat up blockers to free up guys like Christian Wilkins, Zach Sieler, Emmanuel Ogbah, and Shaq Lawson.

I almost took another WR there, but I am assuming that Miami will be signing one of the better FA WRs so between Devonta Smith, Devante Parker, and the FA signing....that should be a nice trio to go along with Gesicki and Etienne

need another LB and another safety and I like this team's depth

    The Chicago Bears select:

Spencer Brown - Offensive Tackle - Northern Iowa

Dominant FCS OL prospect that needs some time to develop his frame/strength, but Chicago is weak enough at tackle that we could compete for a starting spot almost immediately.

    The rivalry is back on

The Indianapolis Colts select Eric Stokes, CB, Georgia

I wanted to go skill position here, but this draft has slept on corners to the point where by far the best value of need positions for IND is at corner. Day 2 of the draft (and the current board) seems to have a lot of zone-friendly CBs but I’ll go with Stokes, who would be a great depth boundary corner for the Colts, who don’t have anyone there under contract besides Rock Ya-Sin

Arizona Cardinals select Michael Carter, RB, UNC.

It’s wild to have two very draftable runningbacks on the same team - who does UNC think they are, Alabama?

while Javonte Williams is stealing the show, Carter himself is nothing to sneeze at. He was 4th in the FBS in forced missed tackles (showing elusiveness and agility) AND 7th in the power 5 in yards after contact (showing an ability to bounce off twckles.). He’s also a very capable receiving back.

While he may be a little undersized, what he lacks there he more than makes up for with great ball carrier vision and contact balance. He knows how to use that low center of gravity to be a hard target as well. I’m also kinda thinking that’s just Arizona’s “style” right now, Carter is a great fit in their power spread.

Best part is I got this pick for free by trading down in round 1 and still taking my #1 target, so HA @EntryLevelDave @CarpetElf I CAN make responsible RB draft decisions. Lol.

last two picks were definitely inspired by the Senior Bowl tbh. Carter and Fitzpatrick were easily the most impressive offensive players in the game. Cardinals replace Larry Fitzgerald and Kenyan Drake.
