The New York Giants select Jayson Oweh (Penn State) - the Giants defense was good this season but pass rush is still an issue. @tkamB you up
I haven’t seen him there anywhere tbh. Most places have him near the bottom of the top 10 at the highest so he hasn’t been on my radar til now
Dallas Cowboys select Jay Tufele, DT, USC In the first round Dallas selected the best interior offensive lineman in the draft. Now they select the best interior defensive lineman in the draft (hot take alert). Tufele brings a little bit of everything you want in a DT. Explosive off the line, quick and strong hands to get around his opponent, and a relentless motor making tackles down field are things that sticks out most when watching him. Also, he is fast for thick boy. He is a really good run defender going to a team that was god awful against the run last year. The Cowboys’ experiment with washed up DTs last year backfired and the entire defense imploded. Tufele and Gallimore would be a nice duo that can potentially help Smith and LVE return to form as one of the best LB duos in the league.
The Jacksonville Jaguars select D'Wayne Eskridge, WR, Western Michigan Trevor Lawrence James Robinson + Najee Harris DJ Chark + Laviska Shenault + D'Wayne Eskridge + Collin Johnson + FA WR + FA WR Tyler Eifert + FA TE Urban Meyer was brought in to provide star power to Jacksonville. He got that in himself, Lawrence, and Harris. He has a reputation to uphold, with a lot of people doubting his ability to translate, and I think he's going to want to uphold that reputation. I don't think people will expect him to come into year one and turn the defense around but all eyes will be on his offense. Eskridge is an ideal slot receiver in Urban's offense. Jags miss out on Toney and Moore but get the next best thing. Trevor will walk into week one with potentially the best RB duo in the NFL, an incredibly versatile set of receivers, and 3/4 returning OL coming off career years. Hard to ask for a better set up for the #1 overall pick.
Sorry guys had a rough couple days at work to end the week and just forgot to get around to checking here. I haven't checked how the board fell but I like the Bolton pick. Edit: I would have tried to move back a few picks, but also would have heavily considered Etienne
Yeah all good. Office suite was upgraded on my PC and then it was discovered that my Outlook hadn't backed up since September 15, even though my the company has it set to do so daily, so I had lost 4 months of emails...and also wasn't receiving them on the new version. Most days this would be great news. But not these particular days when I had a ton on my plate. Just one of those things where by the end of the day my brain was just toast and I wasn't even thinking about anything other than getting to bed
The New England Patriots select Dylan Moses, LB Alabama. This pick makes a lot of sense to me. He’s been hurt so his value slips, but his talent and game changing ability is right in line with what the Patriots need. Bonus points it former Crimson Tide great Hightower is back to help take Moses under his wing.
