Man who cares about being conventional haha

James Robinson is a great off-tackle / receiving back and Najee Harris is the best inside / stretch power back since Derrick Henry. it’s a great combo. Lawrence would have RBs and receivers. I want every read in every formation to be a capable weapon if I’m trying to develop Trevor lol

We've got like 13 picks and all the cap room. It's literally to the point where we have too many options.

Not that I care but that's not an excuse to overvalue a position like that. The good players have to want to go there.

Would it be an A Grade pick, no. ESPN can give it a C minus for all I care.

would it still be awesome, hell yeah LOL

basically how I feel about it. Haters gonna hate let’s rush for 2000+ total team yards between Najee and Robinson and then Trevor’s job will be easy

It's a move that would get criticized in the moment sure but if it pans out it's one that'll get looked at as a primary reason for their success.

Do we think Cleveland makes the playoffs without Kareem Hunt? Does SF make the Super Bowl without their RBBC? Does anyone legitimately believe in a re-draft situation Derrick Henry would have fallen this far?

Neither Kareem Hunt, nor Nick Chubb, nor any member of that 49ers backfield, nor Derrick Henry were first round picks. Let alone luxury RB picks!

this is fair but I still like the pick lol. It’s not the best value for us but it would still be awesome!

Any other RB would be a “nah” but in this division I really want to respond to our rivals having two of the 5 best bruisers in the league

Nick Chubb was pick 35. At that point he's a first round pick without an option. Derrick Henry would be a high pick in hindsight and Chubb should've been a first round pick. It's Pick 2/13 at 25, who cares haha. You don't re-sign RBs and this gives us two years of having an elite duo of Robinson/Harris while Lawrence develops.

    Lets Go. Prestigious

look I almost traded up to 26 to take a RB but I think a team like Miami has that luxury because they are further along in their rebuild and don't have a RB as good as James Robinson on their roster

I think a team like JAX has to build up the line and defense first but like I said, whatevez

Like think about it. Imagine Trevor Lawrence being behind on time of possession every time we play the Colts and Titans (so, four important games every year) and having to throw 40 attempts from behind in 24 minutes of game time? That would be terrible for his development. That’s exactly what we did to Bortles and Minshew and I do not want to do it to an actually good QB prospect. We don’t have the defense to stop that from happening and it’ll take a couple drafts to build one... so the next best thing is to have our own long, draining drives with our running game

its a mock draft on an Internet forum idc, all I'm saying is if I had control of the Jags pick, the board would have to fall way differently for me to take a RB.

Our entire IOL is under contract and Jawaan was a sophomore. No building needed at OL except for LT which is one of those positions I was talking about when I mentioned FAs. This isn't going for "a RB", it's going for a guy that projects as the next Derrick Henry.

It wasn't my top pick either, I had four other guys I was deciding between but fuck it, let's see how this falls haha Because again - we have so much cap space and the free agent class is extremely convenient for our needs so I could draft a guy that proves to be just as much of a luxury as Harris anyway

    The rivalry is back on

I don’t hate it from a realism standpoint either - Indianapolis traded ahead of Jacksonville because they had a strong feeling they would have taken Taylor. New front office (with head coach being the ultimate decision maker) might want his guy. Denver is a good example of a team hitting it big with a UDFA RB and then investing at RB anyways

I wouldn’t do it though because I don’t like high picks on RBs

  20. Without reading the back and forth since the pick was made....

I don’t necessarily trust players who put up huge numbers on bad teams. Especially players that no one expected to be that good. Harris is a stud. Jags have a ton of cap to fill other positions. Bad teams shouldn’t always pick for needs. Get talent. And get as much as you can.

Anyway. It would be fun but so would like 6 other picks at 25 so I’m just excited to see what happens. Idk. I just wanna draft a stud that’s fun to root for haha. We could go in almost any direction. It’s really about what identity the team wants to establish early on.

Y’all also gotta understand, my favorite Jaguars team that I actually clearly remember watching had MJD and Fred Taylor at the same time. & Fred is probably forever my favorite player I’ve seen live from being in a season-ticket family as a young kid. And a Gators fan before that.

I love just old school running people over and juking people out. I’m probably wired to like good runningbacks more than the rest of us cause that’s what 16 year old me rooted for when the Jags were good.
