Stick around Tyler and Matt @Swoos for Bears Then me for Colts Then @Swoos again for Bucs Then @CarpetElf Broncos Then me Falcons Then @Swoos Jets
Colts select Jalen Reagor, WR, TCU. They were throwing to something called Zack Pascal a LOT last year. TY Hilton also gets hurt sometimes and isn’t quite young anymore. That about sums it up.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Antoine Winfield Jr, S, Minnesota Trading a third for Trent Williams opens up options at this pick. The Bucs front-seven is fucking good. Their run defense was phenomenal last year and everyone up front is returning. They were the only team to shut down McCaffrey, and they did it twice. Having a great front-seven certainly helps make your DBs better. And that was the case last year. But I think doubling up DBs could make Tampa's defense elite. DL: Suh - Vae - Gholston LB: JPP - White - David - Shaq CB: Carlton Davis - CJ Henderson - Sean Murphy-Bunting S: Antoine Winfield Jr - ?? Bucs could be scary.
Denver Broncos select Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama Broncos lost out on their top targets in Mims and Cushenberry so they go with BPA here and create a formidable secondary. Bouye, Diggs, Callahan, Simmons and Jackson is a low-key scary back five.
New York Jets select Lucas Niang, OT, TCU This draft needs to be about making Darnold better. Ceedee Lamb and Lucas Niang should do that.
Seattle Seahawks trade picks 59 and 101 to Pittsburgh Steelers for pick 49. Seattle Seahawks select Neville Gallimore, DT, Oklahoma AJ Epenesa + Neville Gallimore = wrecking havoc
Chicago Bears select Brandon Aiyuk, WR, Arizona State WR: Allen Robinson, Anthony Miller, Brandon Aiyuk, Cordarrelle Patterson RB: David Montgomery, Tarik Cohen TE: Jimmy Graham, Trey Burton, Adam Shaheen QB: Pretty fun team
I've been having a debate with some friends over wideout value in this year's class. I feel like Brandon Aiyuk in the second might turn out to be a better value pick than Ceedee Lamb in the first.
Cowboys wanted Gallimore here but still pick up solid value at the DT position with Jordan Elliott, DT, Mizzou. Elliott slotting next to Gerald McCoy is an upgrade over Maliek Collins and whoever played NT last year.
I think he might be a better value than Jeudy but Lamb frequently flashes some WR1 traits that are really hard to coach. His improv instincts are refined, he comes back to the ball when his QB is in trouble faster than CBS can react downhill on a regular basis. His footwork on the sideline is also money and he shows excellent concentration when he’s tracking the ball with complex footwork. Also never gets out muscled at the catch point. He shows very high awareness, and high physicality and competitiveness.
Fair, I just disagree. Jeudy is more refined “right now” but Lamb really floors me with his intelligence on the fly, and his raw competitiveness and willpower. His intangibles are off the charts imo. He will outfight & outwit anyone to get to a poorly thrown ball when his QB is under duress.
