Detroit Lions select Rashard Lawrence, DT/DE, LSU. The Lions lost both "Snacks" Harrison and A'Shawn Robinson, they're gonna need to replace some of that power and intensity up front. Lawrence flashes shocking strength and acceleration at times and also at times can pull a spin move up his sleeve to stay in a run gap. I see him as very inconsistent and unpredictable so he may not be the best starter right away, but I think in terms of long term development and potential Lawrence has several high upside traits. He's scheme versatile if you coach him right. He plays 3-tech DT right now, but I also like him as a fit for a 3-4 DE - his motor, in terms of strength and heavy lifting, is more impressive than his stamina to speed rush. 5 technique end would take advantage of his raw power in the running game while still giving him opportunities to power rush the interior. Lions would love a lineman they can move around.
Two tackles for NYG I love it. Nate Solder is such a bad fit there. Idk why they thought a spread tackle was the call.
Chargers select Matt Peart, T, UConn They did a good job at RT with Bryan Bulaga but Okung wasn’t replaced at LT and he was shitty anyway. Peart is a lengthy; agile spread offense specialist who I think works well with how they should use Tu’a and how the Chargers generally like to operate.
