You just saved me from taking Raekwon with the next Jags pick. I know I already picked Kinlaw, but they could use both guys haha and I think they'd be a fun duo
Even Gettleman says “let’s be honest, we need to fix the O-line”. Giants have already addressed tackle, still need to address center. Weston Richburg didn’t work out and their quality guards (Kevin Zeitler and Will Hernandez) are sorta wasted without the chemistry / coordination of a smart center between them. Daniel Jones dealt with a lot of interior pressure and could use help identifying and adapting to blitzes. Giants select Tyler Biadasz, C, Wisconsin.
I’d be all for Kinlaw / Raekwon. 1) we got rid of both Malik Jackson AND Marcell Dareus 2) I think Taven Bryan sucks 3) Abry Jones is great depth but best in small doses 4) Kinlaw and Raekwon could potentially help us move toward a 3-4 defense in 2021 if we fire Wash.
Jacksonville Jaguars select Cam Akers, RB, Florida State Raekwon Davis and Julian Okwara were options A and B for this pick, so I'm going a little off the board. Not that he isn't great value here, but not necessarily a current need for Jacksonville. Leonard Fournette has a decent injury history, a fairly inconsistent career, and is unlikely to get an extension. Akers will be a good #2 for now and eventually taking over as the lead back. And I think he'll be better than Fournette.
Browns select Malik Harrison, ILB, Ohio State. they badly need LB after losing both Schobert and Kirksey. Colts select Michael Ojemudia, CB, Iowa. they badly need CB, their best guy is last year’s rookie Rock Ya-Sin which is pretty bad. Ya-Sin showed some promise but it’s definitely time to pair him with another physical corner. I didn’t like the value in round two and Ojemudia isn’t my *favorite* corner on the board but he definitely is the next guy up for a man coverage - heavy defense.
haha oh I'm sure Akers wasn't your ideal pick there but just looking at what's there I think he is the safest pick so I kinda went BPA. Jags just need guys who can make an impact. I think Akers can more than a few others I debated here. Simmons, Kinlaw, Laviska, and Akers are all guys I'm confident will be impactful.
It’s not a bad pick. We just have other needs that are harder to address haha. But we do have to draft a RB sometime soon. Me and @CarpetElf kinda agree that angling for Etienne next year would be pretty cool I would absolutely take CEH if he somehow fell to round 3. I love his running style / receiving skills. Best case scenario imo, if Fournette took reasonable money and didn’t ask for top tier RB money, we could keep both and they’d complement each other PERFECTLY. (Fournette better not ask for an AAV above $13M though, I wave goodbye if he thinks he’s worth anything close to Zeke or CMC)
I had 4 guys I was debating between. One was Akers. One was Malik who went next. The other two would be fine picks but like I said I went with the guy I thought was safest.
Falcons select Bryce Hall, CB, Virginia Because holy mother of god the Falcons still need corners and y’all still haven’t selected this guy. Hall might be niche but he has great acceleration & timing to the catch point, and understands spacing / route combinations in zone. He’s patient about reading routes, but then is able to shift gears and track the ball QUICKLY without hesitation. Which is crucial for a zone corner. I think you can teach him to play better press / man and I think his natural skill set adds versatility to the Falcons defensive backfield. Definite value pick down here in my opinion.
I don't know if any of you use the first pick website to sim, but it is trash for anything realistic, and awesome if you want to be in a good mood. i just kept trading back and taking crazy value picks. of the 22 picks, 16 are projected to start at the NFL level. ravens will be insane for the next few years until they can't manage the cap and all of these guys leave as FA's.
