Tbh it’s nothing against Simmons - I think he’s an exceptional prospect. I’d grab him 6th after Burrow, Young, Tua, Herbert, and Okudah all go and would grade the pick very highly. I just also think that there’s a better move for all of the top 5 teams that isn’t picking Simmons, and that the biggest draft winner(s) of the Washington/Lions/Giants group will be the one that turns their top 5 pick into a ton more picks. Added bonus if you maneuver the board to trade down to the Chargers at 6 and get the one left over of Young, Okudah, and Simmons.
I think getting Chase Young is a good win for the Bonercats. The Lions and Giants should absolutely be moving down.
I felt the same way about both Saquon Barkley and Quenton Nelson in the draft class when IND got Nelson. One of the best prospects I’ve seen at his position in a long time and I didn’t have anything negative to say about him. I also think it would have been a bad move to pick him at 3. Trading down slightly and letting the board fall and grabbing the last one left of Barkley, Chubb, and Nelson, with Roquan Smith as a nice consolation prize if they all went off the board was a better move than fixating on any one specific guy and picking them at 3
Hey, not my fault. I tried to do the exact same thing but the Dolphins wanted to stay at 5 and Randall was unreasonable. So I got Chase Young and moved on with my life lol
Yeah v happy Matt was super reasonable. Redskins get a pass-rusher to pair across from Sweat, picked up a 2nd, AND got Okudah. Trading down was not great if we couldn't get a pass rusher.
Is it too late to change my pick? Matt hasn’t gone yet and I’ve gotten cold feet and now think I fudged up.
Uh excuse me @EntryLevelDave WAS offered Yannick to trade down lol. Miami is just a better trade partner because they need a QB more desperately, and can give up two firsts while still having one. I would’ve ABSOLUTELY given Dave Yannick for pick 26 if he had that pick. /was not being “unreasonable” lol
Right, no I was saying you were being unreasonable because you were more dedicated to a second-round pick than 85% of husbands are to their wives.
lol well. By offering Yannick I felt like I was offering another first round pick. Offering the second wouldn’t have been a ripoff per se but I just wasn’t willing to pay that much haha. I was like Pawn Stars “best I can do is a few extra mid rounders” lmao
Arizona Cardinals select Tristan Wirfs, OL, Iowa With the Cards committing to DJ Humphries, they look to secure the right side of their line with one of the top OL prospects in the draft. Wirfs offers versatility in that he can play guard or tackle, which gives them some wiggle room with two vets on the right side already. Protect Murray.
