Yannick and Burns as starters. Christian Miller and Darrell Taylor as backups. We'd have plenty of speed on the edge for sure. I think Miller will develop into a nice player. He should be getting a ton of snaps this year.
Collin really should've declared last offseason, this past season hurt his stock a ton and it already wasn't exactly amazing
The Denver Broncos select: James Lynch - Defensive Tackle - Baylor Blue-collar interior pass rusher that doesn't quit. Pretty shocked that he left early but maybe he got some decent news from the NFL Draft Advisory. Lynch is Baylor's all time leader is sacks and just finds a way to get it done. Very powerful bull rusher with some deceptive quickness against interior linemen.
Taylor will probably be a massive steal for someone in the mid-to-late rounds. If he was able to work out at the combine, I think we'd see him being mocked late second round. He's a good player with some really good athleticism for someone that's pushing 270.
I’m still so stoked on this draft lol. I didn’t have to move up for Trevon Diggs or Tyler Johnson, I didn’t have to give up a pick to get Derrick Brown, & I only had to move up a couple spots for Kmet. I also think a 5th round pick is a bargain to try out Sidney Jones in a different scheme and see if he still has strong potential. Epenesa was the lowest value pick but even despite that... he’s the second best DE overall in the class. Very well rounded between technique, athleticism, strength; he has inside rush, outside rush, ability to two gap and beat double teams. So I haven’t agreed with most that he wasn’t overall a good option for me.
With the 119th overall pick, the Atlanta Falcons select Zach Moss, RB, Utah. The Falcons shelled out $5m to bring Todd Gurley to Atlanta for one year, but, with a lot of wear and tear on his treads and no solid backup plan behind him, the Falcons need to have another capable back on the roster so they don't face the trials and tribulations they have the past two seasons. Moss won't flash often, but he brings power and balance in addition to solid pass-catching skills. Moss comes with health concerns as well, but it's a risk worth taking in the fourth round for a Falcons team that has struggled to run the ball for the past couple years. The Falcons should find creative ways to manage the workloads for Gurley and Moss by employing a RBBC approach that they have not effectively had since 2017 with Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman. From The Draft Network:
The New York Jets are up @Night Channels and, god, it feels like I'm tagging you after every single pick I make haha
The New York Jets select: Quartney Davis - Wide Receiver - Texas A&M Highly developed as a route runner. Projects as more of a slot, but has the measurables to move outside in certain formations. Doesn't have the best tracking ability or hands, but he wins against zone coverage and fights for the football over the middle.
Raiders select Rashard Lawrence, DT, LSU Raiders had a big need at DT this year. They signed Maliek Collins, a 3 tech defensive tackle. Lawrence is an ideal nose (1 tech) for an aggressive 4-3 front like Oakland’s. He uses a low center of gravity and a tenacious “street fight” mentality and takes no prisoners in the trenches - even if he can’t make the tackle he’s pretty good at scrapping and getting in the way. He also offers some pass rush and interestingly has a spin move at his size. At worst he’s a solid two down run defender. At best he’ll develop better hand technique to go along with his relatively quick feet and intensity, to add pass rush too.
Colts select Anthony Gordon, QB, Washington St The Colts have 0 QBs on the roster under contract in 2021, so it feels likely that they’ll grab a developmental guy. My guess is that they’ll wait until day 3 with some more pressing needs right now (WR, CB, depth OL). Gordon is my favorite of the later round QBs - his weaknesses like arm strength are generally outdated concerns that can be schemed around, and his strengths (accuracy, leadership, and a quick release) are the traits the staff has cited as what they want in a QB.
I’ve actually not taken any with Jax. Raiders took two but we’ve already discussed why I like Delpit. Lawrence is just good value down here in a dwindling DT talent pool.
Pittsburgh selects Joe Bachie, LB, Michigan State With Pittsburgh losing its key backgups at the LB positions, Pittsburgh needs to add to the stables. Joe Bachie is a sure tackler, which Pittsburgh desperately needs.
