Seattle Seahawks select Saahdiq Charles, OT, LSU PROTECT. WILSON. Is Charles good? Irrelevant. Cedric Ogbeughi is at right tackle right now and I honest to god think the difference between Ogbeughi and I isnt THAT big. PROTECT. WILSON.
@Randall Mentzos Pittsburgh selects Jordan Elliott, DT, Mizzou Pittsburgh depth along the Dline is thinning, especially with the loss of Hargraves.
This is bad but “Saadiqh” always reminds me of that Colbert bit, where he broke character and started laughing, cause the writers had him refer to a fictional Arab-American fan named Suq Madiq “I trust I’m pronouncing that correctly.” Hahaha
With the 103rd overall pick, the Philadelphia Eagles select Willie Gay Jr., LB, Mississippi State. The Eagles linebacker corps so far is a disaster. Nate Gerry is a replacement level starter, Jatavis Brown has been on the decline since his rookie season in 2016, and there is a ton of inexperience with T.J. Edwards, Duke Riley, and Alex Singleton. Adding Gay to their linebacker room gives them speed at the position which they are very much lacking. While he likely won't be ready to start right away, the hope is that he can develop into a starter at some point this season. Considering that Edwards is their only linebacker under contract beyond 2020, the Eagles will be hoping that Gay can contribute sooner rather than later. From The Draft Network:
Rams select Jacob Phillips, LB, LSU After cutting Clay Matthews, they could use another body (or three) at linebacker. Vikings select Jabari Zuniga, DE, Florida The Eversen Griffin replacement.
WE HAVE A TRADE! Carolina trades pick 106 to Tampa Bay for picks 117 and 161 (The commish approved the deal)
I think Elliott is a Top 50 player. I just preferred more of an interior force like Hamilton to someone like Elliott that would be more of a 3-4 DE in New England*. V good pick
Tampa Bay selects Jalen Hurts, QB, Oklahoma Tom Brady might be an "all-in" type signing, but it could also blow up your face. And even if the Brady reign is successful, he's still 42 years old and on a 2-year deal. You still need a fallback plan. Jalen Hurts has had an interesting career. But through it all he's handled everything with great maturity and shown the will to keep improving. And he's had the benefit of being around some great coaches. Starting his college career with Nick Saban. Ending it with Lincoln Riley. I think both of those coaches deserve a ton of credit for the progression Jalen made in college, but he still isn't ready to be an NFL quarterback. However, what would be better than sitting behind Tom Brady for a year or two while being coached up by Bruce Arians? I think this could be a very good landing spot for Jalen because of who he'll be around and learning from.
in Madden 2015 his QB was Mariota. in Madden 2019 his QB was Lamar Jackson. In Madden 20 his QB is DeShaun Watson. Somethings never change lol
Meanwhile I draft Russell Wilson with my first pick but not even for scrambling per se. Just to help me deal with pass rush lol cause that's my kryptonite. A QB who can release the ball quickly and escape the pocket without freaking out is needed for my game. My biggest flaw on offense is I hold the ball too long sometimes haha.
I throw with anticipation a LOT, but sometimes i'm overconfident and throw too early, thinking the WR already has enough separation and get surprised by freak-athletic INTs. I go back and forth between throwing too many INTs and holding the ball too long for this reason haha. But when I'm on my game I'm pretty good at reading the playcall very quickly and knowing where to go with the ball, just based off how the defense moves right after the snap. People are def better off calling man / blitz calls against me than zone.
