Vikings select Ben Bartch, OT, St John A team like Minnesota feels like a good fit for Bartch, where he can sit and refine his technique for a season, but they could easily have a long term need at the position and have virtually no depth
Houston Texans select Van Jefferson, WR, Florida Wide receiver isn’t necessarily their biggest need but you can’t trade away someone like Nuke and not draft another receiver. Jefferson obviously isn’t going to be the next Nuke but he might be the best route runner in the draft. Because of this he comes with a high floor. He should be able to contribute year one.
Carolina Panthers select Hunter Bryant, TE, Washington Another weapon for Joe Brady’s offense. Bryant is a legit receiving threat and should create mismatches for opposing defenses. Not too worried about his lack of blocking because Ian Thomas has developed very well in that aspect. Those two would be a fun duo at TE. CMC, DJ, Samuel, Bryant. Sign me up.
Jefferson is going to be a great NFL player, upside of a Derrick Mason possession-style receiver. Dan Mullen's offense spreads the wealth so much across a bunch of receivers. If he played under any other offensive system, he would have been highlighted more, put up much bigger numbers, and been a higher selection.
Ravens select Shane Lemiuex, G, Oregon. I was toying with selecting him in the second round, which is where he goes in a lot of mocks, and for him to still be available is way too much value to pass up. Two interior lineman in back to back rounds might seem like overkill, but with RG Yanda retiring, C Skura coming off a devastating knee injury, and functional-but-not-great Bradley Bozeman at LG, having two guys who can potentially step in as starters day 1 is a good problem to have. With the DL, OL, and LB corp solidified, the rest of the draft can be spent on high-upside skill position players. For example, taking a running back in Round 4 where they belong! @Swoos titan up, son
Anyone picks 110-117 interested in trading back to 134 and picking up a 5th rounder, #170? 110. Green Bay Packers (via NYG) 111. Houston Texans 112. Los Angeles Chargers 113. Denver Broncos (via CAR) 114. Arizona Cardinals 115. Cleveland Browns 116. Jacksonville Jaguars 117. Tampa Bay Buccaneers @socklord @Swoos @Night Channels @Randall Mentzos @EntryLevelDave
You could also trade me back Calais Campbell for my next pick. Lmfao. I’ll lose a round for no reason if it means we can reverse that dumbass Caldwell move lol.
I'm reformulating the draft value chart, I've spent four hours on it. So far I know what pick one and pick two are worth. I have 253 more picks to go. That's 21.25 full 24 hour days of work. Here we goooooooooo.
Tennessee Titans select Antonio Gibson, ATH, Memphis One of my favorite players in the draft. He can line up anywhere. He should be able to give Henry a few more breaks, help with the receiving out of the backfield, and line up in the slot. Playmaker. Jag ruiner.
Ian Thomas is still in the plans. There will be plenty of opportunities for him and Bryant to be out there together. And like I said, Thomas has been impressive in his blocking abilities. They’d be a cool tandem.
