Not gonna lie I totally forgot I was in this mock draft What did the Saints do with their 2nd again Edit: Erik McCoy, got it
Nothing wrong with having three perceived starting DTs. If there's anything I've learned from Howie and Schwartz, it's all about the trenches baby
I actually, really like and am inspired by this approach. I should try indulging discussions this way more often rather than picking a side so quickly before it's hashed out. I'm very decisive about my opinions but that's not always a good thing.
It's just like...why not have as much information as you can, right? Everyone has a point that comes from somewhere so might as well see where it's from and how it can impact where you're coming from and where you're going. Sometimes people's takes are just over the top and ridiculous and obviously incorrect (I have a lot of those too) but even those have a BIT of a point you can get from it, even if it's completely different from what their point actually was.
I think it all comes from where we are in life right now and how we've watched everything devolve before us and just kinda getting exhausted from feeling like I have to be like "I AM A WHITE MAN AND I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT THIS" and maybe just thinking that I don't always have to have something to say. Whether or not that's the case I feel like the attitude of having to jump into something with a preformed take and argue it to death as if it matters what I specifically think comes from a place of privilege as a man and it's something I've felt I needed to work on a lot, and still do really.
3000 followers I'm not doing too bad! (I do suck at it though those followers are from a while back and I got tremendously worse since then)
@CarpetElf random but i rewatched our madden game for some reason. God damn your offensive strategy is so hard to stop hahaha. I wasn't doing nearly enough to account for everything you audible on those rollout plays. Congratulations, you've successfully made me change my approach a bit. Because even as good as I am at playing linebacker and covering 2 things at once, you found a way to make it impossible for me to user-cover that deep route without allowing a 20 yard QB run. And I'm feeling real attacked and competitive about it hahaha. i was panicking during the game. I legit did not know what play to call or what to do to stop that shit, and it was killing my safeties / Lattimore downfield.
I mostly just told jokes for a while, then I started just using it as a personal twitter and lost a shit ton of followers One of the people I became really good friends with on there did work on season 1 of Bojack Horseman, another has her own TV show coming out, and I am posting in this mock draft, so you can see how it's worked out for me
I've already figured out a couple work arounds though, don't worry. the hard part is calling them at the right time and not leaving myself vulnerable to other plays he calls.
Keeping this one the same as v1. Taking the write-up and adding some new comments The Buffalo Bills select Ashtyn Davis, S, California. From v1: TDN's scouting reports have him as a decent tackler who will best succeed as a Cover 2 free safety and/or playing primarily deep halves/thirds. Sean McDermott is something of a DB whisperer at this point, going back to the Carolina days. It seems like he's able to plug just about anyone into a spot in his secondary and when you think it's going to be a liability based on past performance, somehow they become a decent enough player. Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer are examples here, nothing special with GB and CLE but really blossomed as a tandem here over the last few seasons. As I'm mentioning them, Poyer's been the SS but Hyde has rolled over there and vice versa based on injuries. Poyer's deal is up after I believe 2020 and to be honest he deserves a HUGE payday as he's one of the best bargains in the league right now. I'm going to pretend Poyer leaves as a UFA after this season, Hyde moves to SS and Davis is the heir apparent at FS. This has changed as of last week, with Poyer signing a 2 year, 19.5 mil extension through the 2022 season, but in typical Brandon Beane fashion the deal has a very manageable out. Poyer now gets a bunch of new money for 2020 and 2021, but the dead cap hits after each season are easy to stomach; 2021 carries a 7.875 mil cap hit with 2 million dead money and 2022 7.7 mil cap hit with only 1 million dead money. I'm still taking Davis as the next man up.
The New England Patriots* select: KJ Hamler - Wide Receiver - Penn State New England gets Julian Edelman's successor
With the 88th pick the New Orleans Saints select Jake Fromm - QB - Georgia. The Saints need a real backup and while Fromm is a career backup he's a good career backup to have. Taysom Hill can't play QB. cc: @Randall Mentzos @whitenblue88 is up for the Vikings
