I know there is no way that either him or Herbert fall that far but I wanted to do one of these without trading picks to see the haul I can end up with
One of them def could fall. The QB market has shrank a little with the Colts moving on from 13. I feel like TB12 would be pissed if the Bucs use their first on a QB so there goes 14. 15 Broncos seem to like Drew Lock and Jordan Love doesn't move the needle much for them. 16 Falcons have Ryan, 17 Cowboys have Dak.
They could fall, but I also see it being one of those things where we think the QB gets drafted much later than they do. Many mocks had Mahomes to the Texans at 25 or even later as a 2nd rounder, and then he went top 10. Would not be surprised to see something similar for these QBs (not saying any are as good as Mahomes was - they're not)
We're at 19 now and Herbert is still on the board, yeah? The Patriots should be slamming the phone lines.
I’m interested to see if GMs really like Love and Herbert as much as the media does. In his press conferences, Ballard said multiple times (in GM speak) that none of these guys that may be there are good enough to pick at 13 and put his money where his mouth was and traded out. It just takes one to like each of them but it wouldn’t surprise me too much if one fell to the end of the first.
Yeah I'm at the stage where nothing would surprise me. Would make sense if both fell to the end of the first, would make sense if both got picked top 15 or even top 10.
I think Love goes in the second IRL. I also thi k hes the fourth QB taken. Hes a prospect a lot like Kaep and Jimmy G.
I think he's more talented than Kaepernick but the similarities in the way they approach plays are very very strong (From what I've seen; I didn't watch all of Love's games)
Raiders actually signed two pretty solid LBs Corey Littleton leads all LB in passes defensed the last 3 years, and he also led the Rams in tackles the last two years. In his rookie contract he got 6 picks and 8.5 sacks. He’s in the role I would’ve put Queen in. Nick Kwiatkowski is a decent will linebacker who in 8 games last year had 71 tackles, 3 sacks. I think they need secondary, and while I don’t love Trayvon Mullen and Eli Apple... they have a bigger hole at safety. They just lost Karl Joseph and Jonathan Abram only played one game in his rookie season before getting hurt. They signed Heath but he’s not great (more of a special teams player) and also injury prone, just came off shoulder surgery. Raiders select Grant Delpit, S, LSU.
Carolina Panthers select Javon Kinlaw, DT, South Carolina The Panthers are in the midst of a rebuild and are letting nearly the entire defensive front leave this offseason. The only returning players of note as of now are Kawann Short and Brian Burns. I've stressed earlier the importance of a strong defensive line. Once again, look at the 49ers. They are the example I hope the Panthers follow when building this new roster. My first move in this draft followed this strategy. I moved back 13 spots while picking up an elite defensive end. Now I address the interior line. Javon Kinlaw has been skyrocketing because of his versatility and athletic ability. He should flourish lining up next to a veteran like Short. With this pick the Panthers DL becomes a force for years to come. Yannick - Short - Kinlaw - Burns Gimme.
Taking on a big contract like what Yannick will require isn't something a rebuilding team typically does, but he is 24 years old. He is certainly a player you want to build around. I really don't understand why Jags won't give him the money.
