I still think it’s okay since the Titans are in win-now mode. They’re arguably the second best team in the AFC and at one point had a lead on Mahomes. I don’t mind going all in before the wheels on Derrick Henry fall off.
Yeah, that was my thinking. Their window is Henry’s window haha So adding AJ Green and Darius Slay made sense.
Titans are destined to regress in 2020. I’d say they’re arguably the third best team in the AFC. Chiefs and Ravens are the clear favorites to me.
If they’re window in Henry’s window, why did they give Tannehill the four-year extension and just give Henry the tag?
Well, I may have been exaggerating a bit lol. When Henry is washed they’ll find another RB and be probably fine. It’ll just be a little different look. They gave Tannehill a new deal because he’s actually good and finding a good QB is way harder than finding a good RB.
I disagree with this. They are a very good team. One of the more balanced teams in the league and they have a really good coach.
They just went into Baltimore and destroyed them. I don’t think there’s a huge gap between the two teams.
It’s funny to me when people make the Titans turnaround so much about Henry when he was playing for the same Titans team that started 2-4 and sucked. They are a good team and they’re going to regress. You cannot rely on Tannehill throwing as little as he did in the playoffs and expect to win many games. It’s unstable. Just because the Titans beat the Ravens in that game doesn’t mean they would beat them again. I’d bet you the Ravens win that game probably seven times out of ten.
And that was the game Mahomes just returned from an injury that probably should have sidelined him for longer. Speaking of the Chiefs, again, everyone wants to make a big deal about Henry, but that dude wasn’t even on the field when the Titans were trailing because he contributes next to nothing in the passing game. Not an offense I would rely on week in and week out. It was fun to watch for a few weeks tho And, bro, the Dolphins won in New England a week prior.
Why is everyone so sure the Titans will regress but are also so sure Lamar won’t? You think he’ll put up godly numbers again? I find it hard to believe he’ll be that dominant again. Not saying he’ll be bad but it’s so hard to consistently play that well. And Tannehill gets way more shit than he deserves for those playoffs games. Yes, they rely on their running game. But when asked, Tannehill delivered for the most part last year. He played very well over the course of several weeks. Their record with him as QB was like 10-3 or something.
Lamar and Tannehill will both regress. I just have more faith in Lamar and the Ravens that Tannehill and the Titans. I also like how the Ravens have built their team more.
I think the Ravens have a much better defense, especially in the secondary. Adoree Jackson was the only Titans corner worth mentioning last year and he’s only just somewhere between solid to good
Hence why it’s not an awful idea to overpay a little for Slay to sure up one of your few weak spots. boom! Argument won @Swoos
Speaking of the Titans, I hope A.J. Brown gets more opportunities thrown his way. That dude was incredible last season
They went 9-7 with a +71 point differential and got worse in FA so far (lost Conklin, Casey, and probably Ryan, gained Beasley). That profile doesn’t scream regression to me because the record just wasn’t all that good but I can see it with the pieces they lost if they don’t find adequate solutions.
