I’d like to see Ford v Ferrari win BP. One of the few films in recent years to catch me off guard.

I have no clue how Joker is nominated for best costume.

 

I can’t even enjoy that Florence Pugh got in to Best Supporting Actress

 

I thought Ford vs Ferrari was great, but I wasn't blown away by it, like I was for Parasite or Once Upon A Time in Hollywood

 

Literally no women directors, eh? Woof.

 

Parasite, the Irishman, OUATIH, Little Women, and Marriage Story are so far beyond the rest of the nominees. If you arranged all the films that came out in 2019 and threw darts blindfolded at them you’d probably hit 3 movies better than Joker, Jojo, and 1917 (Ford v Ferrari is pleasantly skillful and competent and, especially after seeing 1917, I have nothing against it)

 

I’m surprised the fantastic song from “Wild Rose” didn’t get a nomination, considering it won the Critics Choice Award last night.

 

How is Joker leading with 11 nominations? It was good but best adapted screenplay? There’s no way.

Has anyone pointed out that frozen 2 didn’t get nominated? That’s truly insane.

 

Also truly crazy that this is Jonathan Pryce’s first nomination.

 

No but yeah insane especially if it gets best song lol

 

At least Uncut Gems and The Lighthouse will get to skip out on all the dumb Oscar controversy conversations. Not looking forward to Comic Book Guys vs. OUAT and Irishman, tho.

I’m sorry but in a preferential ballot system there is NO WAY Joker wins best picture. It’ll be #1 on a lot of lists but it’ll be #9 on just as many.

 

I think that one is pretty much guaranteed to go to Elton John, no?
