in any other year, Jonathan Pryce should run away with best actor. fantastic in the two popes

 

Love to see Knives Out in there and surprised to see Ford v. Ferrari. Other than that the other 8 were very predictable.

 

i doubt we get a full 10 nominations this year for BP

 

I’m thinking it will be 9. The 8 givens plus either Bombshell, Ford, or maybe even Knives Out.

That was me and you’re already fuckin the story up. Never said he was a lock to win...hell I hadn’t even seen Gems at that point. I said he was all but a lock for the nomination. After that you kept on making idiotic responses to everything I had to say after that, like saying how you were “personally offended” by my placement of a Baumbach film on my favorite Sandler films list. Never once “freaked out”

I hope Parasite is re-released in the coming weeks, I don't think it played anywhere around me before

of the major nominees, I still want to see that (still have no idea what it's about but I like going into movies knowing the least) and 1917... I didn't see Joker and I don't feel like spending $20 to buy it digitally (for some reason I can't rent it)

Edit: nvm, when I checked Just Watch a few days ago it listed it as buy only, now you can rent it

 

Thank god the directors had the sense not to nominate Phillips. It’s a shame Gerwig didn’t get in but that’s a good group otherwise. At least it’s not five white dudes.

I know Gerwig is the only woman with a shot at best director but I just wanna point out that there are five women who could rightfully replace whatever five men eventually get nominated and I hope everyone sees their movies!

Gonna try and see Little Women sometime this week. Don't know much about The Souvenir or Atlantics, but I'll try to check them out if/when they're available. The Farewell, High Life, and ABDITN were all great movies.
