I think I would genuinely rather have Korshkov than Chucky. But I feel like if Chucky was gonna have a resurgence anywhere, it might be here on a team that, at least on paper, plays a very kind of cerebral, possession-style game. But I have vanishingly low expectations.

Wow, great article on the mess that is PHX.

Seriously though, if they can't get the stadium out of Glendale the Coyotes will never have a chance here. It's so fucking far out there. I went to a game two October's ago and I am not sure if I would make that drive up there again for a game. Nice little area around the stadium but I get why I see that mentioned in most articles. It's just not convenient for most people in PHX. And when you have a super strong youth program that is on the opposite site of the valley it doesn't help anything either.

 

I was confused when I saw the lines the Canes were planning on using this year....

McGinn on the first line with Aho and Tuevo specifically. Svechnikov is probably going to end up our best player from the core we have now. It made no sense to take him off the top line. Those 3 would've been unstoppable together.

But here we are 13 games into the season and Brock McGinn has 7 goals and 2 assists on that top line.

Svech is playing with Jordan Staal which has helped Staal have a monster season so far (6 goals, 8 assists).

Last night was a perfect example of how explosive this team can be. Down 3-1 to Columbus. End up winning 7-3.

So I guess Brind'amour is smarter than me.

 

can we talk about the Jeff Skinner contract?

I love Skinner. I have his jersey. But that contract was terrible the day he signed it.
