I guess it’s because laines contract is over at the end of the year and Dubois is not? Still looks bad though.

 

He said he wanted a "bigger stage". So if attention is what he wants he will get it. But it's not even like he's going to be their top center.

Yeah, this trade looks a lot better on paper when you realize Laine was almost certainly going to walk at the end of the year, and teams knew that.

I would be stunned if he asked for *another* trade before season’s end. If they really think he wants out of Columbus, I think they’ll give him a ton of minutes and jack up his value and flip him for a good package in the off-season.
