While smith can be hot garbage he had some of the better underlying numbers thus far. I'd rather smith in simply because he's not a nazi though.

I think people sort of came to conclusions that it was a Torts problem given his past history. Which is entirely fair. But maybe I’m missing something since I don’t remember any significant player conflicts since he’s been in Columbus. Doesn’t seem like Panarin or Bob left because of Torts.

 

My gut instinct says it’s Torts, and I think he’s just completely checked out on Columbus. That play definitely doesn’t reflect well on PLD, but it’s also not indicative of his career to date whatsoever. I’d be very happy to get him.

Dubois, a restricted free agent, signed a two-year contract with the Blue Jackets so he could play this season, but his desire to be traded hasn’t changed.

Instead, the Blue Jackets made it five games and one week into the season before the situation became a full-blown crisis.

The Dubois situation is much trickier. He said before camp began that he would endeavor to be a “good teammate, a good player and a good person” this season, even under the awkward circumstances.
