It’s fun when your friends who are much more casual hockey fans ask why the bolts have so much more talent than every other team and you have to explain to them that the league comes together, knows teams have an unfair advantage over their players and simply allows it to happen.

 

Sure that can be annoying but if the isles make it that casual fan never watches another game after five 2-1 low event games

The cap hit is nice.

I don't think it will be hard for RNH to put up 30-40 points per year for most of the contract.

He for sure would be 6-7M if he went with another team.

This at least gives the Oilers the extra 1-2M to get some depth that they desperately need.

Looking at the awards for the last few years and seeing that McDavid won the Hart, Lindsay and Art Ross trophies this year and Draisaitl won all three last year.

So one team has two different players that have won awards in back to back years for MVP, most outstanding and most points in a season and that same didn’t make out it out of the first round of the playoffs (or the qualifying round last year).
