I was so close to putting Wolf on mine
Legit question - do you look up the song titles before posting them or do you just remember them?
I feel like most music knowledge faded after high school. I can recall most songs I love from around that time because (I assume) I spent so much time listening to them that it just got stuck in my memory. But I don’t think I could name a favorite song without playing the song and looking at the track list from any album of the last 8ish years besides a very select few.
Mostly remember but sometimes look up
I remember album and song titles for most albums I loved growing up and helped form my taste in music. Nowadays I can remember them only if I truly love them, like mewithoutYou.
I bet if I was quizzed or something, I can name each album and song in order from their discography. Maybe MAYBE at like 95% accuracy at worst.
mwY albums (that I've listened to) ranked:
1. Brother, Sister
2. Pale Horses
3. Catch For Us The Foxes
5. Ten Stories
6. A->B Life
Top five songs (right now):
1. Rainbows Signs
2. Nice And Blue (Pt. II)
3. Torches Together
4. In A Sweater Poorly Knit
5. Bear's Vision Of St. Agnes
Is it just their first one and “it’s all crazy” you haven’t listened to?
I've listened to their first one, unless there's an album predating A->B Life. Otherwise, it's all crazy is the only album of their's I haven't listened to yet
List valid since it includes sweater
Ten Stories 5th.
Ten Stories slaps and is super underrated, but Untitled just jumped ahead of it for me yesterday and the other three already ahead of it just slap harder. Sorry boo
“It’s all crazy” is a departure from their “normal” sound but my god do I absolutely love it. Easily the funnest album of theirs to sing along to. And the lyrics are still extremely good, music too.
Catch Us for the Foxes
It’s All Crazy
In hindsight it's all crazy might be top 3 for me nowadays
I love that this is a mwY thread now haha. My co-worker played Catch For Us The Foxes at work over the speakers yesterday, it was legit
First song I heard if theirs was January 1979
First song I heard was February 8
I saw them open for Norma Jean, had never heard of them and was only watching them waiting for Norma Jean to melt my face, back when they were good :P
They were touring [A->B Life] and opened with Bullet to Binary and all wearing big thick Alaskan winter coats and they played and I never recovered. That was 17 years ago this month actually, damn.
My brother introduced me to them with A Glass Can Only Spill What It Contains...didnt even know something in the scene could sound like that with lyrics at that level. One of my college film projects was piecing together the colored spider tracks.
If you could go to my audioscrobbler from 2005-2006, it was the absolute best period. I'd bounce from Emery to Band of Horses, mwY to GAD and Moneen...felt like the time where a lot of the stuff I loved really honed their sound. I think 2005 is the Warped Tour I went to and got to see a bunch of them live for the first time too.
Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band are the best live show I’ve ever seen. Seen them 4 times. Saw Green Day on the American Idiot tour and they were unbelievable.
Turns out playing Zelda while blasting mwY is what I needed
LETTUCE GROWS, LETTUCE GROWS
IN NEATLY SECTIONED BEDS AND ROWS
Breath of the Wild is so good but every time I boot up my switch I just go back to Stardew Valley
Stardew is a little too grindy for me (he says as he goes fishing for Staminoka Bass to max rupees)...but I played that a BUNCH this fall when I was working remotely from my buddies cabin. Stardew is how I can make 4hrs of my life disappear and yet its still the same month in the game.
MUTEMATH might be my favorite live band.
mewithoutYou is super good too.
Since we're ranking:
1. Brother, Sister
2. Catch for Us the Foxes
3. Pale Horses
4. It's All Crazy
5. Ten Stories
7. A->B Life
