All Time Final AP Poll Appearances

I like this viz... bar chart race of number of final AP Poll appearances.

 

Thank god. He’s hurt the conference greatly. It went from being a major conference that could compete with the best to almost being on par with the AAC.

 

Idk if this is an unpopular opinion, but take out Clemson and the Pac-12 is better than the ACC.

 

It’s about even to me, but yeah the ACC is pretty weak outside of Clemson.

 

Both conferences are ass and feature way too many bad teams/programs.

 

The problem with the ACC is that Florida State and Miami completely fell off.

UNC is a program on the rise. Boston College could be pretty strong in 2021 too.

 

Virginia Tech is another historically strong program that fell off. Even GA Tech had an 11 win season 6 years ago.

The rest of the conference is pretty inconsistent.

 

GT was never going to do anything running the triple option in a power conference. I hope that program becomes relevant again.

 

I mean they appeared in 3 ACCCGs, won it in 09 and handily won the 2014 Orange Bowl against a Mississippi State team that had previously been ranked #1 that season...but who’s counting.

my presumption is the first game next fall will be pretty barebones/not worth it, but the 2022 or 2023 game will be so good. Might have to break out the 360 this week and play some NCAA 14.

 

Gary Danielson will be the analyst and there will be no option to turn him off. Is everyone still excited?
