I agree with the committee top 4.

 

Not coming in here to debate the committee’s decision, I know the ACC is very down right now. BUT... If an undefeated defending national champion doesn’t make the top 4, to me, that’s a clear sign that 4 teams is not enough.

 

If I'm an undefeated defending National champion and I want to be regarded as a top four team, I don't let UNC come within one play of beating me.

 

That’s not really a fair assessment as there was a full minute left in the game for Clemson to get in field goal range to win it even if they did get the 2 points, but point taken. I would say that’s comparable to Penn State barely beating Pitt at home though.

 

And I know Penn St has 2 marquee wins. I’m not really all that worried because if Clemson wins out they’re most likely in anyway. The current rankings are just making me wish for an 8 team playoff. It would be interesting to see Ohio State, LSU, Bama, Oregon, Penn St, Clemson, Utah, Georgia all get to fight for it.

 

Oh yeah, 8 teams is how it should be for sure.

 

Hate the rankings. Clemson is now going to beat NC State by 70 instead of 50.

Fleck taking over a saban team would be amazing. Such different personalities and fleck would be able to finally take bama to the heights saban couldnt even dream to reach fleck is the GOAT

I hear you here, but the last month of the season + conference championships is this playoffs for you

“First round” matchups:
Ohio St vs Penn St
LSU vs Bama

and if all involved teams hold up their ends of the bargain:
Georgia vs LSU/Bama winner
Oregon vs Utah

Every team but Clemson plays a de facto “playoff” game where the loser is likely eliminated (except in the case of LSU/Bama, where the loser could still slide in)
