Agreed - just have OSU play A&M. Michigan would have lost by 100 anyway.

 

Should just keep the Big 10 out of the playoffs entirely. It's their own fault for having such bad leadership.

 

i love seeing ohio state get f'd. it's too bad urban meyer isn't still there to experience it.

i only wish they waited until friday to make this announcement so it would be too late for anyone to swoop in and save them.

 

I'd much rather see them lose than have a shortened undefeated season. I also have a suspicion that the committee will put them in at 5-0 anyway.

 

agreed, but a loss wasn't happening against michigan, and likely wasn't going to happen against indiana or whoever either so i'll take this

The initial playoff ranking gave me false hope. I knew this would happen, but I had hope for half a second. Cincy won’t make it... two-loss Iowa State is ahead of them, with one of those losses coming from a G5 team.

Big Ten expected to remove 6-game minimum for conference championship: Source


The Big Ten is expected to approve a change to the six-game minimum required to play in the league's championship game, a source tells The Athletic's Nicole Auerbach. The change would allow Ohio State (5-0) to qualify for the Big Ten Championship on Dec. 19 in Indianapolis against Northwestern (5-1). The vote, which will be decided by the schools' presidents and chancellors, is expected to happen Wednesday, another source confirmed. This is a developing story. More to come.

Financially it helps pretty much all the schools if they make the playoffs, it was obvious it was going to happen.

 

I love 'fuck the big ten' as if playing sports during covid when the same schools have deemed it too unsafe to go to class in person is a good idea. The whole season is a write-off and I fucking love college football but this season sucks. I have next to no interest in watching which is awful 'cause it's one of my favorite sports.

 

This is official now. Lol... unless Northwestern upsets Ohio State, there's going to be a 6-0 team in the playoffs. They really should just relabel it an "invitational bowl series" or something. The college football post season irrationally pisses me off.
