#6 ranked Cincy. Ya love to see it.

A top 15 Coastal Carolina and #16 Marshall is also impressive.

Aside from beating App State, what Marshall is doing really isn't that impressive. Their season should be considered a failure if they lose a game.

Coastal has a shot at App and Liberty. If they win out, it's far more impressive.

I agree with you about Marshall's schedule. They originally had ECU and Pittsburgh on their schedule, but those got canceled. Hopefully they get a decent bowl game if they win out, which like you said shouldn't be too difficult.

Liberty also seems like an imposter to me. Their opponents are so far 4-26 this year. I highly doubt Liberty will survive V. Tech this weekend.

Liberty has a great offense. You can look at their opponent's record all you want, but mid-major programs (especially one that just came up to that level not too long ago) should not beat an ACC program the way Liberty handled Syracuse.

They should lose to VT and NC State, but they are still a top mid-major program this season.

I did it for three seasons (at two different schools) that have WAY less money and way smaller staffs that Clemson.

    It happens everywhere.

True... I wonder if the NCAA should limit the number of staff a team can have though. Smaller schools can't pay for 75 misc. staff employees to support a football team.

    Absolutely not.

If you look at Clemson's student staff, those kids aren't getting paid. The GAs are getting a small stipend plus a free master's program, but the undergrads are absolutely not getting paid.

Dabo Swinney and Jeff Scott (who's the head coach at USF now) built the student assistant program from the ground up. It's genius and it basically gets them free help, plus those kids get valuable experience. Every assistant coach has multiple student assistants. Elliott and Venables essentially have full control over the graduate assistants. Those staff members are interviewed and handpicked. Almost all over Jeff Scott's GAs at USF were undergrad student assistants at Clemson or they played at Clemson.

Every competitive, major program is going to have top tier graduate assistant groups. They have their choice.
