Haha I’m just giving it shit. I’ve only been to Atlanta and a couple parts of Florida. People suck everywhere. Michigan has a spot that was the home city of a KKK grand wizard and shit so Michigan is not the pinnacle of cool places. But our lakes and forests I’ll put up against any state!

also most college towns are solid cause of all the kids.

Your school is forced to hire one of the following guys to be head coach:

    Mike Gundy
    Mike Leach
    D.J. Durkin
    Art Briles

    Who do you lobby for?

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Sounds like the PAC-12 is going to do the same thing

  18. is that less games or just 12 conference games?

Less games -- only playing conference games

But lets be honest, we're probably not going to get any games

  20. This is just delaying the inevitable there will be no college football in 2020

i clearly dont understand the full scale economic ramifications or something because i thought pretending like 2020 never happened when it comes to sports seemed like an obvious move to make. The idea of them forcing a college football season is just so fucking awful/dumb/idiotic. I hate it.

And it breaks my heart that there isn't going to be college football this year but after march madness got cancelled, i was 100% on board with having no sports at all in 2020. Add another year of eligibility for those who want it and that's that.

    The rivalry is back on

cancelling is going to end up being the only choice, but it’s also a pretty crappy choice for universities, so I see why they’d hold out. Plenty of teams across all sports are almost certainly going to fold. I’m not well-versed enough in university budgets to know how badly no athletic revenue plus state budget cuts most places (for state schools) plus students pulling out if there aren’t in person classes is going to hurt them all, but I’d imagine that it’s gonna be pretty ugly.

If it was as easy as “we’ll just pull from endowments” or “we have enough of a budget surplus to weather a cancellation of the season”, I think they would have pulled the plug awhile ago.

Mid-major football is going to suffer greatly.

Didn’t Stanford cut like 10+ major sport programs already because of the financial impact of covid? I assume if a school such as a Stanford has to cut programs this will sadly demolish most lower / mid-level schools or programs.

hell, most mid-majors barely have enough money or lose money on March Madness runs. Now imagine not even bringing ANYTHING in for an entire season or two. Gonna suck.

  25. Yeah they did - smaller sports and mid majors are not going to survive
