Living in the south is great if you have the willpower to ignore 99.9% of people and things

 

I generally want people to clarify why they hate the south just so I can gauge how ignorant they are to their own problems. I know Bigmike knows his shit though.

 

I don't hate it here. And I definitely didn't hate Lafayette either.

When I was in Minnesota, I dealt with WAY more conservatives and open racism than anywhere I've lived in the south.

Austin has its pockets of MAGA losers, but for me, it's been a really refreshing atmosphere. It's just really damn unfortunate that COVID hit right as we were settling in.

I mean the heat is what it is. I don't have to shovel a driveway. I don't have to layer up. The "fall" and winter here are amazing.

 

Yeah like i can point to where I'm from as the best and worst parts of the south but I've definitely been to some SCARY fucking places in the midwest and west.

Plus like, the south has underrated beauty to it. Where I'm staying rn is gorgeous.

Yeah idk, the more you travel and read the more you realize its all bad (and good).
