The more I've thought about this I think Harden just wants to be in the east because in his brain he'll have a better chance at reaching the Finals... it doesn't matter for him what the Rockets even do, he wants to go east.

All the teams on his preferred list are east teams, I think its just as simple as that

I'll be really happy with Stone if he resets the team with Simmons plus what he's done already

That swap almost feels like a formality at this point... and yeah, probably best to move Tucker for whatever as well

 

Thybulle doesn’t make it work with Tucker involved. He could be routed elsewhere in a three team trade though.

Some picks as well obviously.

 

Funny thing too is I suspect Harden will ask Fertitta for advice when he opens his restaurant here

 

Maybe I'm being a homer but I'm not including picks or young pieces in this trade. Simmons for Harden straight up. Maybe throw in a pick if Tucker/Scott are included. The Rockets can look for a better offer if they don't like it

 

I have no dog in the fight and I think anymore than two is unnecessary. I would be shocked if Philly throws in a ton

 

But at the same time, that’s pretty much needed to acquire a top 5 player in the league.

It’ll be interesting to see. I wouldn’t be shocked if we see some random ass team swoop in and get it done because they were willing to sell the entire farm.

Philly has a 8.1 mil TPE so Tucker can slide in. The Rockets most definitely will need Thybulle and Scott along with Simmons in that as well as two picks at minimum

 

I don’t think the trade for Simmons happens bc I still think Simmons has top 5 potential and I can’t imagine Morey wants to possibly become labeled as the guy that traded that away.

With that said I really hope that trade happens.

 

I mean I guess the Sixers would just not do the trade then right? Why pay more when you're negotiating against yourself?

for sure but obviously I still think that Jrue is 1. a great fit and 2. worth the cost

 

Morey will 100% do the trade if it means getting James and Tucker imo. Especially if he gets James to agree to an extension.

 

I don't think a TPE can be combined in a trade for salary matching purposes
