Like you cannot watch a Heat game from this season and think theyre even a shred of what they were in Disney but - adding Oladipo and now theyre repeating as east champs lol

  8. Yeah they’re definitely struggling this year. But I think they’re more talented than they’re showing. Too many guys are ice cold shooting. Last year they were one of the best shooting teams, even before the bubble. Herro was never like super efficient but he was better than this. And Robinson is a fantastic shooter who has also struggled this year. Combine that with Jimmy missing a lot of time, Goran’s injuries and you get a bad season. Dipo isn’t going to solve their shooting problems that’s for sure. But they did build some good depth at the deadline. So if the shots do start falling I think they can be a strong team. Just not on the level of the top 3 in the East.

  11. they made the finals and played lights out all playoffs. it was an extremely successful playoff run lol. come on

  12. They played the Bucks very strong in the regular season, everyone said if they met in the playoffs they could be a problem for the Bucks, they met in the playoffs, they were a problem.

Sure, they were a hot team at the right time. But it wasn’t just out of nowhere. They’re a good team. But instead of regressing to the mean, they’ve regressed way past the mean into just flat out playing bad. They are better than what they’re showing this year and I think that’s a very obvious thing to say even if you don’t think they’re a title contending team.

im not disputing they had a good run, maybe great, but they didnt win. Thats all i meant. If the bucks went to the finals and lost i sure wouldnt be boasting about how successful they were in the end. Its all good lol

  16. i've said it to drew in here and in text before but it comes up a lot. if the bar for being "great" is winning a title ... y'all need to be more realistic. one team wins a title a year. the cavs teams that lost to the warriors in the finals were absolutely great teams that had great runs. the bucks going to the conference finals a year after having not won a playoff series in 18 years was great. the heat absolutely had an insanely great run. who cares that they didn't beat lebron and anthony davis. heat fans absolutely deserve to boast about what they did last year.

Seems like when it comes to the NBA most people have the same views. Basically if you don’t have a ring then you or your team is a failure. Like Shaq acting like Barkley can’t have an opinion on anything just bc he never won a championship. I don’t get it.

Yup. The main thing I hate about the major sports. 2 years ago when the Sixers lost in game 7 to the eventual champs to get to the ECF? Huge success in my eyes, great year. Last year getting swept? Ehhh huge disappointment.

The greatest regular season Cavs teams (66 wins in 2009 & 61 wins in 2010) didn’t even make the finals. I’d consider the ending of those seasons a failure because they lost to an inferior Magic team and then lost in the second round to the Celtics when they were up 2-1.

I don’t think anything less of the 15, 17, 18 Cavs teams for not winning the finals. The 15 team lost Love and Kyrie to injury and the 17/18 teams went up against the absurd Warriors squad.

It’s all about expectations, if your team exceeds expectations, for most franchises it can be a great year, even if you don’t win the Finals (last years Heat). But if you’re supposed to be a juggernaut and don’t make it to the finals or lose in the finals, then yeah, it could be a failure of a season.
