NBA newbie has a question:

if you hit the ball first and THEN accidentally slap or push the shooter... is it still a foul?

I ask cause that clip up there, yeah he definitely pushed the guy sideways but if he hit the ball first then technically the foul didn’t influence the shot... ? As a spectator who doesn’t know the rules that intimately... that should be fair game to me.

 

Would you rather I post Fox's 4th quarter shooting numbers to make the same point?

It can be a clean block on the ball but if there’s excessive contact on the body at the same time it’s a foul, like if you’re closing out on a shooter and get the ball on the release but your momentum carries you through and you truck the shooter that would be a foul as well

Of course the Nets *should* say no, but I could see them making a move out of desperation.

And the move for the Cavs would be more for Harris' shooting. The cavs are one of the worst shooting teams in the NBA and who cares if Dinwiddie has an expiring contract? So does Drummond. Isn't Dinwiddie out for the season anyway? Or for a long period of time? Dinwiddie is more about making the salaries match.

 

They would still need to include other players to match the contracts, no idea what they would give. Bailing on Harris already would look super dumb imo, they would never be able to add a player of that caliber again because they’re already so over the cap lol

 

Dinwiddie and Harries does match salaries, that's why Dinwiddie would have to be included.
