I wonder if part of Houston's reasoning for holding off on a trade is that they technically don't have their own first round pick in 2021. Somehow it ended up that of the 2021 firsts for OKC, Houston and Miami, OKC gets the best two picks and Houston gets the worst

It might benefit them to keep Harden and win a little to lessen the blow of losing out on their own pick

Feels unlikely that Houston would trade Harden to Miami knowing that the best package they're gonna get is headlined by Herro and picks, only to win 20 games and end up with the 28th pick
