when's the last time a big trade for Philly has worked out in their favor?

Simmons and Maxey is a nice haul

Simmons will immediately help the defense, its been so bad

offensively it should now be about putting good fits around Wood and letting him flourish this season

If you can get PJ included by adding Maxey then his bags are being packed by Morey

I would say the Jimmy Butler trade was pretty successful

Jrue Holiday for Nerlens Noel and a pick (became Dario Saric) set the stage to get Embiid

The Nik Stauskas trade was great until the pick was used to move up for Fultz

 

Extremely. Simmons might be able to teach Wood how to play defense though.

 

I don't remember who the Sixers gave up in that deal but trading for just one year of a player that didn't result in a Finals appearance or win feels like a waste.

 

Simmons/Wood is a fun pair though. Houston will be fun to watch.

You're right that it didn't work out entirely, but at least when it became clear it wasn't working, they got Josh Richardson out of it. Definitely nowhere near as bad as the Harris trade/signing

 

I was really just talking about block buster trades haha - I know the Sixers have made successful trades before.

 

Lol yeah if they had just kept Bridges it would have been great

Plus then they wouldn't have had an extra first to include in the Harris trade so maybe that wouldn't have happened

 

I wonder if Tucker gets moved in this deal - he's a guy I would love on the Bucks

Nets sending Allen to the Hornets in a 3-way is what I need.

 

If the Sixers offer Simmons there's no real way for the Nets to top it imo (besides Durant, which isn't happening), but anything is possible
