Lol it’s always funny to me that the sports threads are usually the least combative threads on this site. The NBA one is the only one that really ever gets weird.

 

I'm torn for Game 6. I really want to see the Blues win their first cup at home, but then I also really want this entertaining series to go to Game 7.

 

If the Blues win the cup, they should absolutely give Berube a lifetime contract.

Forgot that the Bruins went down 3-2 in 2011 after scoring 8 goals in game 3 and scoring 0 goals in game 5.

Obviously this is a different time and team, but gives me a little reminder that anything is possible.

 

Hell, this team was down 3-2 to Toronto. Not that it means anything but they’ve been here before.

 

I woke up just feeling like the series was over which, as disappointing as it was, almost felt a bit freeing. I know I'll still be on edge for Sundays game, but it's been a fun season and we're at the end. Time to just go all out.

 

These Boston fight videos are great. Fuck both of these teams lol.

 

I don't want a game 7 only because that's the night of Coheed/Mastodon/ETID and I don't wanna have to watch the game while there.

 

These fight videos are really making the rounds. Even my friend, who knows nothing about hockey, sent me a message about it this morning.

I think fights in the stands are dumb in general, but it's not like this is exclusively something that happens at Bruins games. I think it happens among pretty much every fan base in every sport.

 

I think it's because it fits the narrative that Boston sports fans are knuckle dragging dullards and crybabies, a reputation that I can't say is undeserved. Certainly wouldn't be getting the same level of publicity if it was even Pittsburgh or TURRANAH.

 

I'm just catching up but assuming this one didn't age well...

 

They had 17 shots on goal in the first but I hear you. 1 goal over the span of 60 is not going to get it done most games.

But should probably blame the refs anyway for the missed call. Haha. Tale of two teams with the way the blues handled the hand pass goal and the way Boston handled this missed call.

 

That missed trip was really bad but holy fuck did Acciari flop. I almost don’t feel bad

 

That's a big ol what if... if 57 goal doesn't count and Bruins get a PP do they score on it? You seem to assume that the rest of the game would have played out the exact same... but it wouldn't have.

 

I assume if the penalty gets called, the Bruins win because it fits my narrative and I'm a Boston honk.

 

Honestly the only controversial call this post season that I think if reversed would have changed the course of the game was the 5 minute major. Definitely don't see SJ scoring 4 goals at even strength.

Hand pass could have been called but still would have been tied in OT so anyone's game. Last night trip could have been called and no goal but Blues have killed last 5 PP's the Bruins had so it's either they kill it and hold on or B's score on it and then we are tied for anything to happen.

IMHO, Binning stole the game for the Blues. B's had good chances, more shots, more bars hit, more PP but Binnington was up to the task.

 

I mean idk judging by the end result I think it aged very well

 

Bruins gonna reverse blues and win huh?

 

All their comments about the refs and making it known they think Berube won the refs over in Blues favor it wouldn't surprise me at all if the opposite happens in Game 6. Plus we saw how the Blues were way too emotional and not ready for Game 3 in STL. This game will be even bigger and louder and crazier... could be another come apart game for the Blues. But I'm hoping not.

You can't really say it's a "tale of two teams" yet. That hand pass ended the gamed and the Blues responded the next game, but everyone went crazy about it during the break between. The Bruins haven't had their chance to show how they'll respond next game yet.
