Each Blues won has felt like it could have gone either way. The Bruins has their chances. The Blues just score early and then grind it down. That missed tripping call was big. People will say the Bruins still shouldn’t have given up that goal but you can’t act like missing that call wasn’t bogus.

 

Let’s be clear, the Bruins sunk themselves on that one with an absolutely putrid second period. Credit to St Louis for that win, they came to play.

That being said, this was one of the most poorly officiated sports games I have ever seen in my life. Just an absolutely atrocious effort from the zebras. It’s been awful league-wide this whole postseason. And people wonder why the NHL isn’t more popular.

 

It was. Then they get the debrusk goal which should have tied it which makes it suck more.

I guess the refs owed one to the Blues for the hand pass against San Jose... I'm glad the Blues won, but I hate that if they win the cup, everyone will discredit it because of that obvious missed call.

The Bruins had plenty of chances in this series to change things. If people want to discredit the Blues for that one thing, then let them go pound sand.

It'd be stupid to discredit a team that went from last in the league in January, to winning the cup, because of a horrible call by the refs in a game.

 

The refs should never have to be discussed after a game, but here we are.

Credit still goes to the Blues though. They just played with more intensity. Their forecheck is great and they clear the puck quick. They can get 1 goal and hold it.

I have been saying the Blues would win game 6 no matter what, so I thought the Bruins had to have tonight. I’ll be surprised if the Bruins can push this to 7, but I’m holding onto hope. Someone has to be down 3-2 after 5 and the Bruins pulled it off in round 1.

Maybe Grzelcyk will be back. Maybe they’ll change up the lines a bit more. Throw it all at the wall. There’s no other choice.

That’s another thing, the spacing between games has been a bit much. Three days between 4 and 5, 5 and 6, and (if needed) 6 and 7. Come on

 

I think it mostly has to do with the NBA Finals more than rest / travel accommodations. Neither sport wants their games on the same night. I imagine these things are worked out at least 2-3 years in advance but would be fascinating to learn how that process goes.

 

Holy fuck, ticket prices on Seat Geek are no less than $1,200 right now for a single ticket wayyyyyy up in the rafters for game 6.

Closer to the ice I’m seeing prices in 3-6K range. Per ticket. Yeeeesh.

I think I need to stop going to other websites after a loss. There is a reason I got rid of all my social media. I can’t take the incessant back and forth between fan bases who don’t realize they’re all acting the exact same.
