That’s just incorrect lol. He has all the requisite size numbers to play tackle. People are more concerned about his ability to mirror faster rushers, and get to the second level for run blocking, than his size. And besides I’ve always conceded he has concerns and argued he has the technique to overcome them. That is directly consistent with me saying I don’t love Burns cause he lacks an inside counter so he is more easily washed outside the play. Oh I forgot all these guys have to fight bigger offensive linemen in the trenches. My mistake. Way to compare apples to apples. Yes, the one that had one good season and fizzled out. The one who is actually the same weight as Burns and also showed far better strength in Combine testing. The one who was drafted by a coach who runs a scheme that has proven success with smaller pass rushers (not sure where you got that last sentence, Dan Quinn has the LEO position in his defense). So yes. THAT Vic Beasley. Burns is 6’6” 235 which is a basketball shooting guard build. He is not well proportioned for the NFL, you can admit that. He DOES struggle with balance against strong players on tape, which verifies the concern. I AM taking it on a case by case basis haha, hence why I trust Sweat to overcome this more than Burns
I did a mock draft that had the Packers leave with Devin White and Ed Oliver so I am your new GM and you will offer me decades of job security.
My least favorite thing about arguing with @CarpetElf is him trying to point out inconsistencies in my argument, when my argument was actually consistent and he’s just getting what I said wrong You do this every time haha
I don’t expect you to be paying attention but I’ve been much better about admitting I’m wrong lately.
Saying I’m wrong before the draft is pointless though because it’s all conjecture right now. No one fully knows who is right or wrong until the draft class has been in the league 2-3 seasons. We are allowed to have conviction in our views before shit actually goes down
I mean yeah and I can admit I’m wrong after the fact but that doesn’t mean I have to regret what I said at the time haha. The context of pre-draft analysis is different from actually seeing the results.
Every time I see that picture I want to punch both the poster and John Krasinski in the nose and I like Matt so I don't like feeling that way
Also @CarpetElf I’m not actually upset I just get uppity when I feel like you’re inadvertently twisting my argument haha
yet most people list him as a guard. weird. they also face faster competition. Idk why we are pretending like offensiveine.en So yes, the one with 15.5 sacks. he is 6'5", 249lbs. So the same weight as von miller and taller. His tape is misleading because he is better suited for 3-4 and, again, faced MUCH more pressure than most edge rushers in this draft because he was the only threat on his team.
Until i provide them to raranrarandraranrarandararanrarandraranrarandalraranrarandraranrarandararanrarandraranrarandall That was an autocorrect and i am leaving it.
So far. No. If he has a great year this year then I go back to thinking he was a good pick though haha
As a change of pace back. Meaning, he’s not even one of the top 32 backs in the league. I just think he’s great on passing downs and valuable to a team with an injury prone lead back. Again, you’re misrepresenting me because you are obsessed with fabricating inconsistencies. Please stop doing that lol
Not because of size though! You’re totally making that up just to make my argument seem worse than it is haha. I hate that disingenuous crap Nice cherry pick there. How about the other 3 years he had 5 or fewer? And only got 20ish tackles cause he sucks vs the run? He is better for a 3-4 I agree with that. I can admit I’ve been speaking from a 4-3 perspective and not taking that into account. That was wrong. But I still wouldn’t take him over Sweat. I think he’s not as valuable as Sweat because Sweat can do either. For a 4-3 team specifically, Ferrell is also a better prospect
I am literally not making that up wtf lol Well duh, Sweat is a monster haha. I'm balking at Burns not being in someone's top 32. I also just don't get a good feeling from Ferrell. Not really based on anything though haha
