Metcalf is 100000% going to be faster than 4.59

 

I don't think that's clear cut. He obviously beefed up since he was playing in college. And while he has awesome long speed, his acceleration is a bit blocky cause he's a long strider.

Even Terrell Owens ran a 4.65 though and just got past dudes with powerful strides. So that doesn't mean he's not still an athletic beast if he doesn't run a fast 40.

 

Could he be a surprise top 5 pick then?

 

It shouldn't be surprising if he goes that high.

 

I mean if he runs that I think it's potentially a lock vs if him being that heavy maybe changed some teams mind if he ran a much slower time

 

I’d still be surprised if he runs that time. He didn’t even look THAT fast when he was 15 pounds lighter or so on tape

Imma bet the over and I might be the only one of y’all who is wrong. But whatever. We’ll see at the Combine.

I say this with a caveat though - running a low 4.5 at his size would still be a damn good time.
