Honestly though Daniel Jones is good. Shows NFL ready skills. Comfortable in the pocket with some mobility, but also keeps his footwork controlled.

He does fine with reads and pre snap adjustments, he tends to know where the blitz is coming from and makes confident throws when he’s about to get hit. And his ball placement is VERY solid. You see him consider how & where he’s gonna hit his receiver on a regular basis.

Also occasionally will see him look off defenders and pump fake to get them out of position.

His best attribute is his anticipation, he makes decisions early and sees where defenders will be ahead of time to make it hard for them to intercept him. His weakest attribute is his arm strength would be below average for starters in the NFL but it seems he has a great understanding of touch.

I’d trade back into the first for him, fuck it. Package our 2nd round pick with the Fowler 3rd and maybe also the Fowler 5th if we need to, get it done.

 

I would say don’t totally trust Jones stats because Matt and I watched some tape and saw SO MANY passes dropped. He’s a solid QB on a bad team.

But hey I’m kinda glad for that — a lot of teams won’t like him becuase he lost more than he won. Might push his draft stock down just enough.
