Oh I know. I'm not making fun of anything except that i chuckled a little when i saw his name on the checklist.
Is it possible the panthers have an assistant in the front office who is actually super good and is mostly responsible for all the good gettleman and Hurney things?
He can’t beat press coverage I would’ve taken about 5 other wideouts over him NE is obviously a great landing spot for a wideout though
You’ll love him Super charismatic, versatile, and just always goes to work A great building block for a rebuilding franchise
I guess it’s possible. But I think Hurney likely learned from his mistakes. Most guys who fuck up that bad don’t get a second chance. And he did some good things before getting fired the first time. Think about this, he drafted Cam, Luke, Davis, Norman, Charles Johnson, and made the trade for Olsen. Basically our main core of players the last several years. But he obviously made several mistakes as well. So far, he hasn’t been as wreckless this go around.
There’s also a fairly big belief that all of those contracts that cost him his job came from Jerry Richardson, not Hurney. A lot of people believe Hurney had no choice and basically was Jerry’s yes-man. I have no reason not to believe that. JR was bad.
JR treated his players like family rather than a business, which ultimately isn’t a bad thing. But it also leads to situations where you overpay for players that just went 2-14.
Basically the situation the Giants are in right now, at least the panthers had cam when they had to overhaul their front office haha
Read an article on gruden last night, this draft is what he does Apparently during the 7yrs as the Bucs coach he always wanted to take players who could play right now vs their upside. The good raiders teams that were built preceded him, he just inherited that situation and Al Davis had a lot of say. We're just used to seeing the raiders do whacky stuff like take a guy 5 rounds too high so it's definitely weird.
In Tomlin's tenure, Pittsburgh has selected front 7 defenders 61% of the time. Also, I'd only consider 3 of these to be complete busts, which isn't too shabby overall. 2007 15 Lawrence Timmons LB Florida State 2008 23 Rashard Mendenhall RB Illinois 2009 32 Evander Hood DT Missouri 2010 18 Maurkice Pouncey C Florida 2011 31 Cameron Heyward DE Ohio State 2012 24 David DeCastro G Stanford 2013 17 Jarvis Jones LB Georgia 2014 15 Ryan Shazier LB Ohio State 2015 22 Bud Dupree LB Kentucky 2016 25 Artie Burns CB Miami 2017 30 T. J. Watt LB Wisconsin 2018 28 Terrell Edmunds S Virginia Tech 2019 10 Devin Bush Jr. LB Michigan
Hood, Jones, and Burns. Dupree hasn't lived up to his draft potential, but his production is serviceable as a starter.
its still hilarious that the Raiders had 3 firsts and spent them on a running back, strong safety, and a guy they could have had way later
Nice! I can root for him there. Now I just need Taylor Rapp to stay out of the NFCE (unless it’s the Eagles).
